Title: In Iowa, Ninth-Grade Girls Hire MALE STRIPPER For Their Swim Club Banquet

Some ninth-grade girls hired a male stripper to perform at the yearly banquet for their high school synchronized swimming club.

The students attend Roosevelt High School in Des Moines, Iowa, reports area ABC affiliate KWWL.

The banquet and accompanying the male strip show occurred on Friday at the Des Moines Social Club, “a vibrant hub of art and culture.”

The synchronized swimming club, the Sharks, is America’s oldest high school synchronized swimming club. Students in grades 9 to 12 are eligible to participate in the student-funded club.

An adult sister of one of the ninth-grade girls actually placed the stripper order.

The stripper did not take off all of his clothes. It’s not how clear exactly how naked he got.

About 15 minutes into the striptease show, a Des Moines Social Club employee decided enough was enough for the minors in the crowd and asked the unidentified exotic dancer to stop performing.

No school employees attended the banquet.

It’s not clear if parents attended.

Roosevelt High principal Kevin Biggs decided not to punish any members of the synchronized swim team for the banquet kerfuffle because, he said, they didn’t break any school rules.

“They were doing it as a joke and a prank,” Biggs told The Des Moines Register. “They didn’t realize, as many 14- and 15-year-old girls and boys don’t, the ramifications of their decision.”

“It’s not illegal. It’s immoral in our eyes,” the principal also told the newspaper. “But immoral doesn’t necessarily mean that students are going to face consequences such as suspensions, or something along those lines.”

Des Moines police spokesman Paul Parizek said no one reported the incident as a crime.

“Not knowing the circumstances, there’s no way we can know if anything illegal occurred,” Parizek told the Register.

Information about the number of synchronized swim teams in Iowa is difficult to find.

Companies serving the Des Moines area with male strippers include Hot N Ripped Strippers, Heartlandhardbodies, Strippers For You and American Ultimate Strippers. (1 image)

"It’s not clear if parents attended"

It's not clear if the parents even knew.

"An adult sister of one of the ninth-grade girls actually placed the stripper order."

If an adult brother of one of the ninth-grade girls placed the stripper order, he'd be sitting in jail right now, charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

I believe you are correct.

For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:6-8)

Or if this was a teen age male club or sports team the male adult would be in jail and the boys suspended.

If the stripper were still male in your scenario, the boys would be celebrated for their "courage".

A government strong enough to impose your standards is strong enough to ban them.

Heh. I envisioned a female stripper. What a square I am....

I believe you're both right, and it just goes to show the hypocrisy inherent in trying to legislate morality.

Laws against contributing to the delinquency of a minor are hypocrisy and "trying to legislate morality"?

Depends what the law claims is 'immoral' and delinquent, doesn't it?

And after their encouraged psychological loosening sets in some more, they will be out in the world trying to screw everything including fireplugs, fenceposts, and farm animals under a new spirit of consciousness. Then we'll wonder at the out of wedlock birth rate.

Not morality but political correctness.

Depends what the law claims is 'immoral' and delinquent, doesn't it?

So we agree that there is a realm within which laws against contributing to the delinquency of a minor are legitimate?

A government strong enough to impose your standards is strong enough to ban them.

There is hypocrisy inherent in trying to legislate morality. -- Your 'morals' may not be constitutional, as per shira law.

Sure, as long as you agree there are some laws about contributing to the delinquency of a minor that are illegitimate.

I have no specific knowledge of any such illegitimate laws, but it wouldn't surprise me in the least to be shown evidence of their existence.
