The Colorado caucus worked exactly as the rules said it would.
People who are too stupid to make lists of delegate numbers don't have any right to complain. Most children in the third grade could do the job. But children in the third grade are generally smarter than Trump supporters so I guess that makes the whole Colorado GOP corrupt because they don't run a caucus that retards win.
It's a political caucus for adults, not the Special Olympics.
he Colorado caucus worked exactly as the rules said it would.
The rules themselves have no right to exist like that in a democracy.
America was always badly served by the smoky back room.
One set of standard rules: we all go to the polls and vote, those votes count and determine the nominee, and the nominees battle it out, again at the polls, in November. The people choose the President.
Simple, sane, straightforward, democratic.
But of course Republicans always hate and fear democracy, because Republicans are the party of plutocracy, and plutocrats always want special rules for themselves. So instead the presidential campaign is either straightforward - if a guy the plutocrats want is leading - or the rules are changed, as they were in Colorado when it was clear that Trump was making a real run for it and was popular.
Additional bells and whistles are added, to make sure that party insiders can always trick the ball.
It's emblematic of why this country is failing.
And of course men like you will turn into good Prussian Pharisees - legalists - "the rules were respected" - the sort of claim that leaders of countries whose names start with "Democratic People's Republic of..." make all over the world.
You don't understand that this mindset of yours is why the country has been destroyed. Hell, it's why slavery and segregation lasted for so long and had to be uprooted by violent force. Things that are self-evidently evil are defended because of some legalistic claim.
You're the same guys pretending that women are not primarily guilty of abortion murderers, and expressing shock and outrage that anybody would ever say such an obviously true thing.
You're bent, twisted, queer and you've lost true north.
In this election cycle, your crookedness MAY steal the election from Donald Trump. But if you manage to succeed in that, you will have only managed to serve yourselves up to Hillary Clinton and the Democrats.
Your only escape from that this time is to embrace the man you hate, and let people you hate, like me, sit in the driver's seat.
You COULD just drop the Prussian VE HAFF ROOLS! defense and admit that your rules are corrupt, and stop trying to steal the election from Donald, and save yourself from Hillary and the Democrats.
But I don't think you will.
I also don't think that your tactics will succeed. I think that Trump has too much to offer too many Republicans to deny the people their choice, and he'll be the nominee.
And I think that the Republican wealthy will end up supporting Trump because he will be the only thing standing between them and wealth confiscation under the Democrats.
So you're going to end up being a dupe again: fighting to the death in the trenches against somebody your leaders will embrace in the end.
The rules themselves have no right to exist like that in a democracy.
Nonsense. Political parties and their primaries are a private matter and always have been. This is why you can get the courts and FEC and legislatures deeply involved in elections but not in primaries.
If you don't like the primary/caucus system in a given state, you are free to start your own party or join one of the existing ones and change its rules.
But it is much easier for you to just sit on your ass and bitterly bitch about them on Teh Interwebs, isn't it?

Nah. It's much easier for me to vote for Trump who, if he wins through the crap you guys have thrown at him and becomes President, will use his power as head of the party to change the rules.
And if he doesn't win, to see the Democrats emerge, reimposing Union funding of elections, and Motor Voter, and public funding of campaigns, and stripping away the "personhood" of corporation, and criminalizing large campaign donations from businesses and lobbying by business organizations (only)(because companies aren't people, but Unions are), and thereby use the rules to ensure that Republicans never again win a national election.
It's much easier for me to side with the stronger horses and win than to make some sort of quixotic drive against a minoritarian, entrenched and shrinking Republican rump, who can - once the Democrats win and control the courts, simply be criminalized out of existence.
It is time for the Republican Party to die a legal death by the rules. And the combination of illegal immigration, Motor Voter, union votes, stripping corporations and the Chamber of Commerce of the right to make campaign donations, criminally prosecuting and massively fining and jailing any rich REPUBLICAN who steps an inch over the line, but using prosecutorial DISCRETION to not do the same to Democrats who make a mistake.
Yep, that combination of things, under a Democrat Supreme Court, means the end of the Republican Party.
And you're going to hasten than end by putting your energy into fighting AGAINST Donald Trump, who won't let any of that happen.
It's real easy for me to win when I define winning as either seeing Donald Trump as President or seeing the Republican party utterly destroyed.
But you have no pathway to victory. You can stop Trump, but what does that get you? Cruz. Who is a despicable toad that will never be elected by the people of this nation.
There's no point in even TRYING to play by your conservative Republican rules. Far better to just wipe you out.
