Seven in 10 people, including close to half of Republican voters, have an unfavorable view of Donald Trump. Six in 10 people have an unfavorable view of Ted Cruz even though the liberal media has not started its campaign of destruction against the Texas senator. The American public was more evenly split on Reagan at a comparable point in the 1980 campaign. According to an April 1980 Cambridge Reports survey, 39 percent of Americans had a favorable view of Reagan, and 44 percent had an unfavorable view. So his favorable-unfavorable gap was 10 points smaller than Trump's - and Trump can't win that back from undecideds because they make up only 7%.
