Donald Trump wants US allies to ante up if they want to continue under the “cloak of American protection,” according to his first detailed comments on his foreign-policy platform. “We’re not being reimbursed for the kind of tremendous service that we’re performing by protecting various countries,” the Republican front-runner was quoted as saying. Trump said he would boycott oil from Saudi Arabia and other allies unless they provide troops or funds to fight ISIS. “If Saudi Arabia was without the cloak of American protection . . . I don’t think it would be around,” he told The New York Times. Trump is open to removing US forces from Japan and South Korea if they did not take on the cost of housing and feeding troops on American bases there, the report said. He argued that it is getting expensive to keep “defending the world.” “We defend everybody. When in doubt, come to the United States. We’ll defend you. In some cases free of charge,” he said. Trump pushed back against suggestions his foreign policy was “isolationist.” “I am ‘America First,’ ” he said. “I like the expression.” He vowed to renegotiate the Iran deal to extend restrictions on the country’s ability to build nuclear weapons while also allowing Iran to buy planes and other goods made in the United States. “We gave them $150 billion, and they can’t spend it in our country,” he said. The United States, in Trump’s view, has lost power economically and militarily for decades. He cited the Teddy Roosevelt era as the period when America’s might peaked. “We have been disrespected, mocked and ripped off for many, many years by people that were smarter, shrewder, tougher,” he said. Trump vowed to restore the country’s role as a global superpower. He suggested the United States has acted like a “big bully” and was “not smartly led.” A cornerstone of the Trump doctrine is his “unpredictability” in dealing with foreign leaders. “I wouldn’t want them to know what my real thinking is,” he said. “I would use trade, absolutely, as a bargaining chip.” He defended US surveillance of allies like Israel and Germany, saying, “They’re spying against us.” Trump said he would allow Japan and South Korea to develop their own nuclear programs instead of depending on America for protection from China and North Korea. He wouldn’t rule out using nuclear weapons against an adversary, saying he would use nukes as an “absolute last step.” But Trump held out hope he could facilitate the greatest deal of them all — lasting peace in Israel. “I would have a better chance than anybody of making a deal,” he said.

Not familiar with English idioms? Or is it that you choose to take them literally when it suits you? You must really get confused when someone says "Jason Day is the face of golf" or Bill Gates is the face of Microsoft. "The face of" means "represent". Trump was saying, "Do you want this person representing the U.S. as President? You're a clown. Let me guess. When Trump said that Megyn Kelly had blood coming from her eyes, you thought he meant that blood was actually coming out of her eyes. Right? Grow f**king up.
But he didn't say that because there would have been no scandal over it if he had. What he said was "blood coming out of her wherever". And now you want to pretend he didn't say that at all or you try to misquote him deliberately. You must think LF's readers are really stupid to fall for your clownish prevarications.
Misquote? Me? This from the King of Selective Quotes. Trump said, "You could see there was blood coming out of her eyes. Blood coming out of her wherever." So what about the first part? What did he mean by that? Why did you leave that out? Are you afraid that the first part explains the second part and it totally destroys your (mis)interpretation of what Trump meant? Trump meant to say "eyes and nose", an expression of extreme anger. As he explained it, he said, "eyes and wherever", wanting to move on. ---------------------------- In "Rocky Mountain Mountain Mountain Revenge" by Jon Sharpe, number 342 of the Trailsman series of Western novels, you can find this passage: Bell took a step, his face so red it was a wonder he didn't have blood coming out of eyes and nose. "You arrogant son of a bitch." The Season Four, Episode Two, recap of "Game of Thrones" at the website Allthatsepic.com tells us: Cersei rushes to her son and screams in horror as everyone looks at Joffrey, who has blood coming out of his eyes and nose. Don't blame Trump because you're ignorant.
So you're saying that Trump was just quoting some obscure Western novel? Are you kidding? If he had already said "blood coming out of her eyes", he didn't need to say "blood coming out of her wherever" if he meant her eyes and nose. Your explanation is as ridiculous as your candidate.
No. I'm saying he was using a phrase that not many people are familiar with. "If he had already said "blood coming out of her eyes", he didn't need to say "blood coming out of her wherever" if he meant her eyes and nose." He meant to say "eyes and nose" because that's the complete phrase. He explained this later. Don't pretend you're interested in the truth.
I think we all know the truth. Teh Donald has a history of making crude misogynistic remarks.

99% of LF's posts are by less than a few dozen posters and about 90% of those posters are over-65 white guys. Elderly wingnut types. So we can't be too surprised at some of this stuff. When you start to think about it, the real question is why any of us care what LF's tiny readership thinks about anything. When Freeperville is a few orders of magnitude more significant than LF is (in the range of hundreds to thousands of times as many posts and members), then you realize this is just an obscure chat room, a hobby forum, running on Web 1.0 forum software.

When Freeperville is a few orders of magnitude more significant than LF is (in the range of hundreds to thousands of times as many posts and members), then you realize this is just an obscure chat room, a hobby forum, running on Web 1.0 forum software. Yes, I'm an old white guy, and us old people tend to know a lot more about the world than you young whipper-snappers do. I thank God for LF. I have been forced to use LF because all other discussion boards have deleted many of my posts and/or banned me for offending someone, mainly atheists and Muslims and also an occasional Christian, just for saying what the Bible says about them. Like Trump, I like to tell it like it is.
True. But us "few dozen posters" were thrown off that site because it didn't tolerate contrary views. So how good is it, really?
