I have been thinking about the wife bashing and cheating accusations. This has all the ear marks of the gop elites trying to bring down both the leaders at the same time.

Not the most paranoid thing I've heard.
It may also indicate the GOPe maneuvering to implant a VP pick and cabinet/administration appointments for their preferred choices at the convention, much as the GOPe forced Bush as VP on Reagan at the 1980 convention.
Thats kinda been my fear with these two thrashing each other in such a manor. GOP establishment will creep in and take over and destroy the movement like they did with President Reagan.

I think the GOPe would rather tank the election to Hitlery than let Trump take over.
They might tolerate Cruz, mostly because they think the Xlinton machine would beat him anyway. He's not very appealing as a retail pol, even against Shrillary.
