President Obama has stoked controversy after he suggested to an audience of Argentinian youth that there was no great difference between communism and capitalism and that they should just “choose from what works”.
Obama responded to a question about nonprofit community organizations and the necessity of attracting funding from both the public and private sectors.
“So often in the past there has been a division between left and right, between capitalists and communists or socialists, and especially in the Americas, that’s been a big debate,” Obama said.
“Those are interesting intellectual arguments, but I think for your generation, you should be practical and just choose from what works. You don’t have to worry about whether it really fits into socialist theory or capitalist theory. You should just decide what works,” he added.
Obama went on to praise Cuba’s socialist system under dictator Raúl Castro, touting the country’s free access to basic education and health care, although he acknowledged that Havana itself “looks like it did in the 1950s” because the economy is “not working”.
Obama concluded his comments by arguing that a market-based system “has to have a social and moral and ethical and community basis”.
Reaction to the remarks wasn’t pretty.
“This man is so destructive, so harmful and so ignorant,” wrote Jim Hoft.
“The Marxist in the White House is erasing the lines between two dangerous ideologies and the one that made the US great, just as he erased our borders. This is a man who would be at home in communist China,” chided the Independent Sentinel.

Socialism is based on stealing from the productive and giving it to the nonproductive. We already had this fixed in capitalism. It was called churches and charities. Which are on the decline since centralized government got so big and people do not have money to give like they use too.
Almost all ills in western society can be traced back to progressives ruining everything they touch.
Slavery is what you have in the capitalist system, pay the lowest wage you can and exploit the peons, and don't let the peons get power. Socialism is what you get when the peons get power, it is a natural state observable in primitive societies where resources are shared

Capitalism does not concentrate wealth into fewer and fewer hands. Cronyism does that, but people call that capitalism.
Business licenses, corporations, taxation, Federal regulation. All those things benefit the wealthy not the masses.
This country could seriously get along without a Federal government except in very few instances where they are needed. To make war, to regulate trade....which means to keep without hindrance not hinder it, and a court system nearly covers all of them that are needed.
The reason power is concentrated in DC is because it is harder for the peons to make changes. The people can be controlled, and cannot strike back easily.
In my mind the Federal government is a foreign entity. It is no different than having the UN or China running the country. We the People have no power.......NONE. They grant to us the right to life, or benefits. Both are a a present from our Washington father.
You are right your leaders have taken you down the path of OWG you think you have rights but you don't because the most basic rights are denied you. Government by the people has vanished from the Earth and you are left with a sham where you cannot deny entry to your country without breaching some regulation, you cannot deport someone who's actions have made them a pariah in Their own country
