"Ar Mageddon" is Hebrew for "City (or Cities) of the Sanctuary." The Revelation appears to be primarily talking about the original sanctuary of God, the Garden of Eden, but it may be that Jerusalem, the home of the second sanctuary, will also be dragged into the war at some point. The dried up Euphrates lies at the epicenter. That is, a vector (or way) drawn from Jerusalem to the epicenter of where Hussein dried up the Euphrates and then extended eastward, points to (and bisects) Baghdad, Raqqa, and Kabul, the home of the three "demon-posssed" kings of the east who start (have started) the final battle between good and evil. Two have already been killed off, the ISIS leader(s) is next in line.

"Ar Mageddon" is Hebrew for "City (or Cities) of the Sanctuary."

The word is found once in the NT and it is Harmagedon. It comes from the Hebrew Har Megiddo.

That's just the beginning of your translation problem.

I think he's flacking his own Left Behinder website, trying to suck LF's readers into his orbit for some quick page hits. He's really stuck on certain words he doesn't understand very well. Typically, he has his own novel take on the translation of these well-known words.

So I kinda get why he's here at LF, regularly making posts about Armageddon and his own peculiar interpretations of the Revelation. What I don't get is what he thinks the payoff is going to be.

This is fascinating. Several days ago, the word "Har Magaddon" was in my thoughts. And then I read this today. Where did you get the notion the Euphrates River is dried out already?

No where is it called Har anything. It's Ar which means city. Geddo/Mageddo/Mageddon is found about 20 tomes in the Old Testament and it always means sanctuary, except one place where it refers to a pagan town called Mageddo and that is because there was a pagan sanctuary there. The word is still in use today. Ghetto is a variant spelling of Geddo which originally meant a sanctuary for Jews.

I am a Jew, so I know a thing or two about Hebrew.

The lower 50 miles of the Euphrates was dry for nine years, dried up by Saddam Hussein to prepare the way for the kings of the East as prophesied. The Euphrates was restored when the US invaded Iraq and toppled Hussein (by Iraq's Marsh Arabs who claim to have lived there since the days of Adam and Eve).

The University of Texas made a map of Iraq in 1994 (based on aerial photos) that showed the lower 50 miles of the Euphrates as being completely dry. It's not on their website anymore but I'm sure they have it in their archives somewhere.

But I found this googling harmageddon.

Pretty awesome

I was in Iraq in 2003, 2006-2008 and 2009-2010.

The Euprates had plenty of water flow from Babil to Basra.

Saddam redirected some water flow away from the marsh lands in the south but the marshes were still there in 2007 when Iran was smuggling EFP IEDs on small boats across the Euphrates and Tigris.

I traveled along both rivers several times by ground and helicopter and small fixed wing. My job required me to have the latest satellite imagery of the entire country.

The rivers were not dried up then and not now.

I see you changed your story a bit. You called me a liar when I reported the rivers were not dried up during my multiple deployments in Iraq. Now you said it was restored.

When did the kings of the east cross over the rivers and who were they?

Yes yet to come. Yet the application of that particular prophecy from a military perspective means every bridge would be destroyed and military bridging capabilities not sufficient.

The complex canal and irrigation system also present challenges to larger forces.

Yes, some of the prophesies are fulfilled two or more times. Each time Turkey dries up the Euphrates and bombs our chief ally in the war on terror (the Kurds) it escalates the final battle between good and evil, and eventually Turkey will be kicked out of NATO (by Trump as he hinted at in today's news).

No kings of the east crossed the dried-up Euphrates except Hussein. The "way" of the kings of the east is the Jerusalem-Euphrates vector which very accurately points to (or bisects) the kings of the east who start the Battle of Ar Mageddon.
