The arrest helped "foil a plot in France that was at an advanced stage," Cazeneuve said on Thursday night in a televised address from his ministry. "The individual questioned, a French national, is suspected of high-level involvement in this plan. He was part of a terrorist network that planned to strike France," Cazeneuve said. Following the arrest by the French counterterrorism service, DGSI, the agency carried out a raid on Thursday night at an apartment building in Argenteuil, a suburb in northern Paris, he said. To: rlk (#0) We all love to make fun of the frogs,but it is an undeniable truth that you do NOT want to be in the possession of the DGSI and have them think you have information they want because they will get it from you one way or another. They have had possession of Carlos,The Jackal for a couple of decades now,and for all that time he has been in a cell by himself,virtually shut off from the outside world and completely alone with no radio,no television,and no visitors. I suppose the first year they were holding him some intelligence pro would come in to ask him questions about other terrorists,but after a few years he was so out of touch nobody had anything to ask him anymore,and he was a lifelong attention whore that basked in the "glory" of being an international leftist terrorist. Then suddenly,he was nothing and nobody but a number that needs to be fed and watered occasionally. The French have refused to allow him any publicity at all ever since Billy Waugh found him in hiding and led the French Police to the villa and watched him be hauled off. They made a brief announcement that he had been arrested and was being put in prison because he had already been convicted,but that's about all I have heard about him since then. It is like the Worlds Most Famous Terrorist just fell off the face of the earth. I have no doubt that when he dies they will bury him in a unmarked grave somewhere,and maybe not even say he died.
