This month, Discover has an excellent article on marijuana called "20 Things You Didn't Know About Marijuana." Turns out that marijuana did not originate in Mexico, but in China. It was first grown there in 4000 BC, and was the first cultivated crop which led to the first civilization in Asia, much like the cultivation of barley and hops {for beer) led to the first civilization in the Garden of Eden, also in 4000 BC. So the discovery of beer and marijuana is what separates modern man from prehistoric man. Marijuana is actually a variant spelling of the Chinese word for cannabis, "maren-mahua." "A silly idea is current that good people do not know what temptation means. This is an obvious lie. Only those who try to resist temptation know how strong it is... A man who gives in to temptation after five minutes simply does not know what it would have been like an hour later. That is why bad people, in one sense, know very little about badness. They have lived a sheltered life by always giving in. ― C.S. Lewis, Mere Christianity
Truth Is Still Truth Even If You Don't Believe It.
