But for now, I am going with Trump.
I still have hope that we can correct, or at least slow down the deterioration of the nation with the ballot box, without having to resort to the 4th box.

Conviction requires 60 votes. Even if all 55 GOP members had voted for conviction, there is no way even one Democrat Senator would have done so.
There were plenty of GOP senators who would have thrown Nixon under the bus. He was told so by his friends. He was going to be impeached and convicted without a doubt if he had stuck around.
And this was because there was evidence that he discussed the idea of possibly covering up a break in he had nothing to do with. There is no evidence at all he planned to go through with it.
