There are a lot of things I could say about Donald J. Trump, but he isn’t responsible for 95% of the problems the Republican Party has today. Do you want to know who is responsible for most of the problems in the Republican Party? It’s the Republican Establishment. “But John, there is no Republican Establishment! In fact, I’d like to see somebody actually name some names. Why don’t you name the Republican Establishment! Dare you…” Okay, just to name a few: Mitch McConnell, John Cornyn, John Boehner, Eric Cantor, Bob Dole, Mitt Romney, Paul Ryan, Kevin McCarthy, Cathy McMorris Rodgers, Karl Rove, Jennifer Rubin, David Brooks, George Will, Jon Kyl, John McCain, Lindsey Graham, Jeb Bush, Peter King and the whole damn NRSC. Being part of “the establishment” is more than just having power in the Republican Party or alternately being obsequious to the people in power; it’s a contemptuous attitude toward the concerns of grassroots conservatives and Americans in flyover country. * We don’t need to get the most votes to choose the nominee; we’ll just keep the candidates preferred by the peons from getting enough delegates so we can install someone we want at the GOP convention. * Yes, we promised you that we’d fight Obama on the campaign trail, but if you actually expected us to do it, you’re a chump. * Sure, we talked tough about illegal immigration to the yahoos to get elected, but now that we’re in office, we’re going to do the opposite. * We’re going to use the contributions and influence of Republican Party organizations to defeat electable conservatives in GOP primaries because we prefer go-along-to-get-along moderates in Congress. * We’re willing to do what you hicks want us to do on show votes, but when it really matters, we’re going to go against you and hope you’re not sophisticated enough to figure it out. The Tea Party gave the Republican Party the House in 2010 and the establishment said, “We can’t do anything because the Democrats have the Senate and the White House. Give us the Senate and EVERYTHING will change. Then we’ll fight for you!” So, in 2014, conservatives gave the establishment the Senate as well and if anything, GOP leaders became EVEN MORE compliant to Obama. The whole idea that Republicans in Congress should keep campaign promises, fight for the interests of their constituents and stand up for the country and the Constitution is treated as an unrealistic joke by establishment Republicans. Then they’re surprised that people are so angry. When someone you vote into office sells his soul for the price of a few big dollar campaign contributions and a few nice articles in the Washington Post lauding him for being “reasonable,” you should be angry. Meanwhile Barack Obama has been attempting to radically change the country into something unrecognizable. Obamacare, gay marriage and outright socialism are being pushed openly while we’re told there’s really no such thing as gender. Obama’s giving Iran the thumbs up to build nukes and he’s openly flouting the law with his executive orders. While all this is happening, fourteen years after 9/11 our borders are still wide open; Hillary Clinton is being allowed to break the law with impunity; racial tensions are exploding and our debt is now so large that it’s impossible for normal people to adequately prepare for retirement. If you’re a regular American, how do you plan for the future when you can’t count on Medicare or Social Security and a debt-driven economic collapse seems like just a matter of time? Ordinary people are afraid for their country and they become even more terrified when they listen to Mitch McConnell, John Boehner and the rest of a Washington Establishment that seems utterly incapable of dealing with America’s problems, treating the grassroots with respect or fighting for anything other than what some rich donor is willing to pay them to do. Today, the establishment Republicans say that Donald Trump is a horrible, awful, terrible monster who will lose to Hillary and ruin the Republican Party forever. So obviously, they’re bombing Trump with massive levels of negative advertising, endorsing the only candidate who could conceivably beat him (Ted Cruz) and encouraging Marco Rubio and John Kasich to get out of the race, right? Wrong. Instead, their wallets are closed; they’re not backing Cruz and they want Kasich and Rubio to stay in the race so that hopefully, they can have a convention fight that will allow them to foist Mitt Romney, Jeb Bush, Paul Ryan or some other establishment shill on the Party. Of course, many Republicans would justifiably feel betrayed by a move like that and it would probably cost us the election, but as per usual, they’re perfectly fine with the ship sinking as long as someone in the establishment is at the wheel. They’re like noblemen who are willing to do anything to keep power except give the impression that they’re willing to respect the opinions of the dirty rabble out in flyover country. You want to beat Donald Trump? Then rally behind Ted Cruz, get the voters on your side and defeat him honestly instead of embracing a sleazy strategy designed to steal a win at the convention. Donald Trump is not the candidate I want to see Republican voters select, but I do love the fact that he’s raised a giant middle finger two inches from the face of the Republicans who prefer to mock, ignore and alienate those of us who put them into power rather than fight for God, country and conservatism.

Why is democracy held in such high esteem when it’s the enemy of the minority and makes all rights relative to the dictates of the majority? (Ron Paul,2012) American Indians had open borders. Look at how well that worked out for them.

The gop(e) will stop at nothing to get its way - its way being to install a Ruling Class candidate as POTUS (Xlinton is "ruling class" BTW, so she'll do just fine, thank you). No. Cruz is moreso. His behavior as a prosecutor was rigid and Pharisaic, defending state action even when the state was clearly wrong in a given case.
Lose. Ruling classes lose sometimes. In France, they had to flee the country to avoid decapitation. In Russia, China and Mexico, they died in droves. In America, we will most likely satisfy the revolutionary fury through peaceful democratic lines, by electing Trump.

Not interested. I don't care about Ted Cruz. He's a distant second, and if Kasich is knocked out the party isn't going to rally around Cruz - they hate him - they're going to accept Trump. Trump will be the nominee, and he'll clean Hillary's clock and be the next President. The party will be reasonably united around Trump, except for certain politicians who foolishly got carried away and followed the Romney torch against Trump. Most GOP pols will do what Christie did, especially after Super Tuesday makes Trump inevitable. SOME Republican Establishment types want to fight Trump to the death, but we already know who all of them are. Among the elected politicians, there are only a couple dozen. The vast bulk of Republican politicians are simply whores - they go where the money and power and votes are. Trump is the strongest horse, and more and more so. The whores won't denounce him, they'll accept him when the time comes. Kasich has been careful not to insult Trump directly the way that Cruz and Little Marco did. Which means that Kasich is a possible Veep. He'll be the last hope of the Establishment, and he will cave to Trump and accept working with him. I'm not going to invest any time debating Cruz - he's not acceptable to most people, he cannot win, he's not going to be the nominee, and I'm not going to bother with him.
He was not a prosceutor .He was Solictor General . He was hired to represent the interest of the State of Texas. As Solicitor General he took on the Bush adm. in SCOTUS and won. That is the real reason the Bushies hate him so much. In 2003, Jose Ernesto Medellin was on death row for the rape and murder of two young girls, ages 14 and 16. Medellin was an illegal immigrant and sought to have his execution stayed, claiming that during his trial he was not notified of an international law through which he could have obtained legal aid from the Mexican consulate. Here is the facts of the case in case you think he was being too rigid and Pharisaic : On the night of June 24, 1993, 14-year-old Jennifer Ertman and 16-year-old Elizabeth Pena were taking a shortcut home when they encountered a gang called the Blacks and Whites, including the petitioner, José Medellín. "When Elizabeth tried to run from appellant, he grabbed her and threw her to the ground. Elizabeth screamed for Jennifer to help her. In response to her friend's cries, Jennifer ran back to help, but [two other gang members] grabbed her and threw her down as well." The group then proceeded to have "fun" by brutally gang raping both girls, and they bragged about it afterward. Medellin bragged that he sexually assaulted one of the girls and that he 'opened' her since she had been a virgin. He showed off his blood soaked underwear. He then boasted that after another gang member sexually assaulted the second girl, he 'turned her around' and anally raped her. The gang murdered the girls to prevent them from identifying their attackers and divided up their possessions. Medellín personally "took off one of his shoelaces and strangled at least one of the girls with it." . The evidence against Medellín included his written statement after arrest, in which he admitted substantial participation in the crimes, including his personal participation in strangling Elizabeth. . This statement was made between 5:54 a.m. and 7:23 a.m. on the day of his arrest, June 29, 1993. Medellín informed the authorities that he was born in Mexico in the same statement. Medellín was not advised that he had a right to have the Mexican Consulate notified, nor was the consulate notified. Mexico sued the United States on behalf of Medellin and 50 other illegal immigrants that were incarcerated in the U.S. for crimes they committed on US soil, citing the same loophole. District and appellate courts threw out Medellin’s requests, but SCOTUS agreed to hear the case. Before the case could be argued, however, the Bush administration stepped in. Bush took the position that as president, he had the authority under the Constitution to order states to review the convictions and sentences of foreign nationals in order to advise them of their rights according to international law. Medellin re-filed in Texas state court. After the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals dismissed Medellin’s second appeal, SCOTUS once again said they would take up the case. Ted Cruz argued the case . Cruz argued to SCOTUS that the President could not order Texas to reopen the cases without the specific authorization of Congress. Cruz duelled with Stephen Breyer and other liberal justices . Breyer said “As I read the Constitution, it says all treaties made, or which shall be made, under the authority of the United States shall be the supreme law of the land, and the judges in every state—I guess it means including Texas shall be bound thereby.” Cruz replied “Texas, of course, does not dispute that the Constitution, laws, and treaties are the supreme law of the land.” But, he went on, the President’s order, in this case, was none of these. Cruz won the case, 6-3 . Roberts wrote the majority opinion, so clearly Cruz had no beef with Roberts until the summer of 2012 when Roberts rewrote Obamacare in order to save it . If Cruz were an establishment pol. he would not have gone against his own Republican President from his own home state . He certainly was taking a big career risk .Maybe he would've considered his Hipanic heritage and sided with Medellin .That would've been the political expedient position to take . That is the short version Yes the Michael Wayne Haley case. Cruz did not write the 3 stikes laws. As I recall ,most of those were written by Dems trying to prove how tough they are on crime. In that case Cruz also won 6-3 with lib justices Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Stephen Breyer siding with him. So there had to be more to the case than a calculator theft. I almost posted that article here. Then I read it and it sounded like a smear on Ted Cruz. The take I got from it was that Ted Cruz was defending the decision for the reason of something to do with a federal vs state issue. But still defending sentencing someone to 16 years for calculator theft comes off as not right.
I suggested above that I was not a fan of 3 stikes laws. I think there should be some judicial disgression when it comes to sentencing . But the law is the law ,and there wasn't anything Cruz could do about that . He was serving the state of Texas. The criticism should be directed where it belongs ;the Texas legislature and governor. I know very well that Trump is not going to launch a Jubilee. There are many reasons for my support for Trump. The alpha reason is that Trump understands the need to make peace with Russia and cooperate with them, as opposed to trying to start a new Cold War.
