The Establishments war on Donald Trump Title: To The GOP (And Tinfoil Hatters) This weekend brought us the "feature" of Mitt Romney refusing to disavow an attempt to "draft" him in the Republican convention should it occur, despite the fact that he would not have received one vote in a Primary or Caucus. There was also the outrageous gang-bang played on Trump in the latest "debate" which featured the moderators using media clips from Romney -- not the other candidates, the moderators. Let me point something out for the Republican establishment that may not have sunk in yet, but it had damn well better, and soon: Yes, this is a revolt -- it's a revolt by the citizens against you. We're revolting because we're tired of your lies, Lyin' Ryan's sequential budgetary lies that have zero chance of actually occurring yet are sequentially presented to us as if they're real, claims of being "against" Obamacare and myriad other policies yet CR after CR is passed that funds the operation of departments the Republican Party claims to be against and silent acquiescence on dozens of other issues despite the fact that Constitutionally all spending must originate in The House, and therefore any program that the Majority of The House refuses to fund cannot exist! The people are tired of being bent over the table repeatedly -- on both sides of the aisle. The Republican Party, in response to Donald Trump's popularity, is having a spazz attack. But the response of said party is telling us more than can be imagined, and it's ugly. What the party is declaring through their tactics as a group, not as individual candidates, is that they are prepared to ignore votes. Folks, is this not the same contingent that "warns" us that various Democrats might refuse to cede power when they lose at the ballot box, holding a coronation instead of an election? Have you not heard that dozens of times over the last 20 or so years? I have. Now we have it happening right in front of us, and it's the Republicans that are doing it. I will remind the Republican Party that peaceful revolt through the ballot box is how, in a representative republic, such things are supposed to happen. It's a lawful, peaceful process and is the just check and balance on bad behavior by elected officials. The response of the Establishment has been astonishing, with several of its members stating openly that they would intentionally throw the election to the Democratic Party rather than respect the will of the people, including by directly voting for the Democrat on the ticket in November and sabotaging the Republican ticket. I will note that Mitt Romney, through his refusal to state that he would refuse to be "drafted" has stated that he does not care if he receives any votes to be on the Presidential ticket whatsoever. He has declared his willingness to participate in a coronation instead of an election, an act that is inherently a direct and gross violation of the premise that the people speak through the peaceful casting of ballots. The Republican Establishment's actions, should they choose to ignore the vote of the people and place upon the Republican Presidential Ticket anyone who did not receive a plurality of the vote in the caucus and primary system, will have declared that we the people can no longer settle our political differences at the ballot box when the soapbox fails to do so. More than 225 years ago this nation was founded when such attempts failed as well. Nobody who is sane should want to see the day that the peaceful political process that takes place through the ballot box be disrespected as someone who lost at the ballot box or worse, didn't even APPEAR on the ballot is elevated to the top of a mainstream party ticket. I do not wish to see where that may well lead, but if that day comes then it is incumbent upon all of us as citizens to make damn sure that the GOP Establishment is held responsible for the consequences. The establishment paraded out the worse possible spokesperson to make their case . It was a stupid and futile gesture . The people who have to make the case against Trump is the other Republican candidates.... Not the loser from the last contest .
