I have received fundraising emails from the NRSC in the past and never sent them a penny . Their emails claimed support for conservative candidates and policies .But the record shows they funnel donations to big government moderate candidates ....sometimes using the money to help defeat conservative Republicans in the primaries. As for Cruz ,despite his position in the NRSC ,he has had a bitter running battle with them going back to at least 2014 when they supported Thad Cochran’s (R-Miss.) over challenger conservative Chris McDaniel. He openly criticized the organization ;but refused to resign. He explained : "When I signed on as vice-chair of the NRSC it was based upon an explicit commitment from leadership that the NRSC was going to stay out of primaries. Had they not made that commitment I would not have taken on that role,” he said. “I participated in the NRSC early on as long as they honored that commitment, and when the decision was made for them to do otherwise I stopped participating because I think Washington insiders are notoriously poor at picking winners and losers in primaries. And indeed the Mississippi primary is Exhibit A for why the NRSC should stay out of primaries.” Cruz told The Hill that he won’t resign from the organization’s leadership, however, because he shares “the ultimate goal of electing Republicans in general elections in November.” When pressed, he refused to say what, if any, work he’ll do to help the NRSC with fundraising or turnout once the primaries conclude this summer. http://thehill.com/blogs/ballot-box/senate-races/211641-untamed-cruz-refuses-to- play-nice-with-gop-campaign-arm So if the NRSC is scamming Trump supporters (and I have no doubt that part of it is true) ,I am confident that Cruz has no part of it .
