Title: Corey Lewandowski: Establishment Trying to Stop Trump Because if He Becomes President ‘Days of Backroom Deals Are Over’

Donald Trump’s campaign manager Corey Lewandowski told Breitbart News Daily that the GOP establishment is desperate to stop Trump’s candidacy “because they know that if Donald Trump becomes the nominee and ultimately the president of the United States, the days of backroom deals are over.”

SiriusXM host and Breitbart Executive Chairman Stephen K. Bannon asked Lewandowski:

One of the disturbing things we’ve seen over the last 72 hours is something quite different, and something I don’t believe we’ve seen in American history, and that is: now you have the establishment of the Republican Party — the financiers, the consultant apparatus, the commentariat, whether it’s Fox News or these other conservative journals — they’re basically saying, “Hey, we don’t care if Donald Trump runs the tables on Super Tuesday, and we don’t care if he blows Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) out on March 15, we’re going to come up – there’s all kinds of presentations being made, there’s all kinds of money being raised – we’re prepared to take this and make it Stalingrad. We’re prepared to go on March 16 all the way to the convention, fight him every step of the way; and by-the-way, if somehow he’s out and we lose to Hillary Clinton because we don’t have enough time to form a campaign, so be it.” What do you have to say to that? What does Donald Trump’s campaign have to say to the fact that you’re just not running against other candidates, you’re running against a whole other entity that’s already had a throw-down and said, “Under no circumstances will we let you win this nomination, and we don’t care if we lose to the Democrats?”

Lewandowski responded:

This is the fundamental problem with the ruling class in Washington, DC – the party bosses, the K Street crowd, the lobbyists who control all these politicians. They will do anything to maintain their power. They will do anything. They will say anything. They will spend whatever it takes because they know that if Donald Trump becomes the nominee and ultimately the president of the United States, the days of backroom deals are over. He will only be responsible to the American people. And so what you have is a series of people who’ve made a very, very good living by controlling politicians through their donations and making sure they get the legislation done – or not done – in Washington, DC to best benefit their clients. And those days are coming to an end.

Lewandowski said that “the Party bosses” in “the Washington, DC establishment” are confounded “because the American people are speaking,” and “it’s no longer the days where … smoke-filled rooms are going to dictate who’s going to be the nominee.”

He added: “These guys think they can spend all the money they want to control the nomination process. The bottom line is the people have a say, and they’re turning out in record numbers” for Trump, who is “the only person in this race that is bringing new people into the party, who is bringing more people to show up and vote on election day.”

The GOP "central committee" isn't able to do diddly-squat unless the Republican National Convention yields a brokered status based on all state conventions.

Seriously, if Trump continues to steamroll over the complaints of the GOP central committee, the idea of a "brokered convention" is just a will o' wisp. Tomorrow will yield the break-through about any brokered convention. It is called Super Tuesday and as an opinion, if Trump continues to draw HUGE crowds at his trump-stump speeches such as the 32,000 crowd yesterday, the GOP "central committee" can take a hike and leave their gavel at Trump's podium.

Trump is visiting Louisville tomorrow afternoon. It is open to the public and I've thought about driving up there for it. I've got a feeling it will be very crowded at 4 p.m.

Since I can't stand the guy, I'll likely pass.

" Trump is visiting Louisville tomorrow afternoon. "

I read somewhere that Bitch McConnell was very upset because the JCRP did not get his permission to invite Trump, and also because they had sold a LOT of Tickets. Read they had sold all the tickets. They need to dump Bitch into the Ohio River.

It's bad enough that I'll have to pay for city parking. I heard it was open to the public which to me means free.

I'll let you know the going rate on hats. Usually, they hand out freebies like bumper stickers and stuff like that. Event is at 4 p.m. They said doors open at 1 p.m.

It will be interesting to see who'll be there, politician-wise. I expect the mayor at a minimum.

Want a bumper sticker?

Brief summary of my visit to Louisville to attend Trump rally/stump speech:

I thought arriving 25 minutes early would be sufficient time to find the place, park and get in the venue; it wasn't. Designated garages were full and I had to drive several blocks toward the Ohio River to park in the high dollar garages - $15.

The line to attend was about 3 blocks long - it encircled the KY Int'l Convention Center - I was in line for about 20+ minutes. One entrance with 8 metal detectors. They didn't even need to see my ticket I printed out a few hours earlier.

As I was traveling up the escalators with hundreds of folks I noticed the Po-pos escorting what had to be young demonstrators/protesters down the other escalators to street level. Not cuffed, just escorted out of the building.

I arrived about 20 minutes into The Donald's stump speech in the large convention hall. His mic and sound system was fine but seeing him was a challenge. He was on a platform/stage with flags. About 80 feet away was the press/cameras platform and maybe 40 feet behind and to the side of them was lil ole me. Actually, I'm over 6 feet tall and all spectators were at floor level, so even I had to stand on my toes to get a fair glimpse at him.

I didn't realize that my dad's Chubby governor from NJ was traveling with him and introduced Trump to the crowd. They were in Columbus, OH at noon today doing the same thing.

There were a good number of protesters interspersed in the crowd and every 5 minutes or so, the crowd would point fingers and Trump would yell, "Get them the hell out of here!" The cops would do their thing without cuffs or violence from what I could see - which wasn't much.

His message was pretty similar except slightly tailored to the Kentucky crowd. I'm lifting some quotes from a local article highlighting some:

www.whas11.com/news/polit...rs-in-louisville/63559950

"Obama has destroyed our military," Trump said. "Our vets aren't being taken care of."

"I think we're going to have a good night tonight," Trump said. "And Saturday, I'm going to be keeping an eye on Kentucky." [Saturday is Pubbie Caucus day - honestly, I thought he was alluding to basketball at the time I heard it; Louisville playing tonight and Kentucky playing on Saturday - D'oh!]

"Hillary Clinton does not have the strength of stamina to be President," Trump said.

"The coal industry is going to make a very big comeback," Trump said. [Sounds good, but how?]

"We're going to make America great again," Trump said. "Thank you. I love you."

I was in the little boys room and didn't make the final minutes of his speech. I had about an hour drive home with rush hour traffic and had to lighten my bladder and tried to beat the crowd.

It was an interesting event and I'm glad I attended. The crowd was friendly and upbeat. The protesters were mostly outside the convention center on the sidewalks on the other side of the street displaying their signs. No problems that I observed. The protesters were mostly young adults with a few retirees scattered around too.

There were 8 or 10 vendors outdoors with overpriced wares as I waited to enter. I expected some to be inside the building with candidate promotion items for free. None there, so I came home empty handed except for my $15 parking permit stub.

My drive home takes me past Louisville airport. And sticking out like a sore thumb was Trump's jet with a big T on the tail and ten foot high letters on the side TRUMP. That egomaniac!

This is what we call RD = FC; rough draft equals final copy. If I recall anything I may add to this on this thread.

One thing I remember Trump said, "This is a great crowd. We must have 20,000 people here."

I'm not an expert crowd estimator, but will say there were thousands in attendance. Could have been 4, 5 or 6 thousand by my guesstimate.

I did just now look up the capacities and 5,000 (with bleachers - we didn't have them) seems to be the upper limit:

www.kyconvention.org/floorPlans.html

What the hey, he's worth $10 billion too!
