Title: So who to vote for

Who to vote for. Who knows. We should pray and ask Gods guidance and reflect on who would be best to lead our nation.

My views are most closely aligned with Ted Cruz.

Can Ted Cruz win? o me he seems to be an honorable man. I don't buy all this he is a liar stuff. If he won the nomination I would certainly vote for him. I'd trust him most to make good supreme court appointments. The problem with Cruz in my view is that I think he is probably a bit of a globalist. He seems to favor these international agreements that are stripping us of our soverignity Not to the degree of Obama or others but still seems to be part of that system.

Rubio. I never trusted him from the start. I never considered him tea party. I guess we all have our own views of what tea party is. I didn't trust him because all these fox people seemed to be pushing him real hard. Then his gang of 8 thing confirmed it and I have dismissed him. Maybe he isn't the worse. I think his supreme court picks would be better then Hillarys. But I also think Rubio is a globalist and his picks would reflect that. So there would be good and bad in his choices.

Ben Carson. He is written off. But now that I think of it he may be the best person running. Some may mock me for that but that is ok. Just because he is a moral man and his heart would be looking out for our best intrests. I heard him say that he thought cities and rural areas should have different laws regarding the second amendment. I disagree with him on that. But I don't think he wants to confiscate our guns or anything. Who knows maybe I'll vote for him.

Kasich. I used to like him. Used to respect him. Then he voted for the Brady bill and supported gun control. So I didn't vote for him when he ran for Governor in whatever year it was he originally ran. I don't remember if I voted for him when he ran a second time. Don't really like him. But I don't hate him either.

Trump. I like his toughness and direct talk. I like his image. I like a lot of what he wants to do. Like build a wall. That sounds good to me and many others. Though in the back of my mind I do wonder if it could someday become a wall to keep us in. I want America to be good again. I want us to win as he says. For us to build stuff here so that our people will have jobs. We are a people. We should look out for our own people first. Not integrate us into a system that makes us compete with people who are essentially slaves. That is short sighted and not in our best long term interests. Trump also has proven leadership abilities. When he wants to make it more easy to sue people for slander. That raises some concerns. There are lies in the media though. If they could be rooted out we would be better off. If that is possible. There are some other things also. I'm still thinking about voting for Trump also.

That is where I am at.

He suckered you in with his bull crap. He's a professional politician who will give you more of what you've been getting. If you buy into his affable bull crap and vote for him, you deserve more of the same. I don't. I'm disgusted with living in a nation of full of spoiled brats who live for instant gratification without prudence or concern for future consequences.

I'm coming from the point of view that the political system is broken and cannot be fixed - at least peacefully. So that makes my opinion a little different than most.

With that said, however, here goes.

I like Dr. Carson, but he's not going to get the nomination.

I will not pull the lever for Kasich or Rubio - mostly for the reasons you state. If one of them are the nominee, I will stay home.

If we had a functional government - under a Constitution - then Cruz would be my first choice.

If I see any potential problem with Cruz (other than he's unelectable as he would be treated by the media as Nixon without the charm), it's that he's an unproven leader.

I think it was great when Cruz went to the Senate floor to bash Mitch the Turtle as the liar he is. But leaders have some kind of quality to cause people to follow them - even when the people don't want to. Cruz hasn't proved he has that leadership quality.

If he were president, he would have to get that same Mitch the Turtle (and the other Rs and Ds) to follow him - if he wanted to actually accomplish any of his agenda.

I think Cruz is hated too much to do that.

I don't see Cruz getting the nomination (he's too hated by the establishment), but if he does I will vote for him

So that leaves Donald Trump. I pinged sneakypete because of his opinion of Trump. I don't disagree with Pete's opinion of Trump the man, yet I will vote for Trump if he's the nominee.

I think the biggest thing that Trump will accomplish is the destruction of the GOP. And that will be a very good thing.

Trump scares me in one aspect - he has a cult following.

And history shows that whenever cults and cult leaders arise, it does not end well.

I can't argue with any of that. I do see your point, but am personally fed up with voting for charlatans, knowing they are charlatans, and just hoping for the best and then getting my face rubbed in it.

Having said that,ALL we get to pick from since Reagan left office has been Charlatans, and the voting public seems to LOVE them. I don't know if it is because so many of the voting public are stoopid,or because so many of them just love a good show so they immediately crowd around a huckster like Perot,Trump,Clinton, anybody named Bush (until recently),and Bathouse Barry.

I wish for the best, but I honestly think we are heading towards a revolution and civil war because all the political leadership in this country has done since the 1920's was try to divide us all into special interest groups that don't give a damn about the country or anything but ourselves. Divide and Conquer is a proven strategy to seize power, and they have been playing the long game.

Sacrafices and hard work are for OTHER people. People too stupid to get the government to look out for them. That type of thinking is NOT what made America great, but it is the thinking that dominates these days, and it is what will destroy us.

I think Cruz is hated too much to do that.

I'm still undecided which primary I'm gonna vote in.
Trump, Cruz, Carson & Rubio are all just as bad as Clinton... so that just leaves me with Kasich or Sanders...

Between the two, I prefer Bernie... but maybe I'll go with Kasich, just so I can vote AGAINST other GOP extremists who are lower on the ballot,

I don't know if it is because so many of the voting public are stoopid

When the final epitaph of this formerly great republic is written, one of the things that will be included is the incredible greatness of the Constitution.

When all is said and done, however, a Constitution (written on parchment) is only as effective as the people who uphold it. We The People - that is where the US has failed.

All of us at one time or another have pointed to INDIVIDUALS (Lincoln, Wilson, FDR, Xlinton, Bush or Zero) for the reason the US has gone into the toilet. But in all truth - it's not them, it's us. We've let it happen. We've ceded the power that We The People collectively have to corrupt individuals and parties.

Education is the key. A young child must be indoctrinated, that is true. But as a child matures, he or she should be taught to THINK.

However - THINKING is anathema to modern education. It's not only not emphasized in high school, it not even encouraged in colleges or universities. Higher education is nothing more than indoctrination centers.

The so-called millenials are following Socialist (Marxist) Bernie Sanders because they've not been TAUGHT how horrific Socialism and Marxism is.

And even though I've already stated that I'll vote for Trump, I have to admit that many of my fellow Trump supporters (cultists) are just as ignorant about the dangers of personality cults.

"The problem with Cruz in my view is that I think he is probably a bit of a globalist."

This contest is down to Trump and Cruz. Rubio is not even polling well in his home state -- and that's with JEB! gone.

Two problems with Cruz. First, until the USSC weighs in and declares him a natural born citizen, I'm concerned about that. He may very well be a natural born citizen. But until it's settled, I'm afraid many voters will be reluctant to "waste their vote" on someone who may be declared ineligible down the road. The MSM and the Democrats haven't even started to hit him on this issue. They're waiting and that scares me.

Second, I don't trust Cruz. I think he can be bought and will be bought by special interests and the establishment. He'll get to Washington and cave, just like many others before him. He'll be forced to negotiate with Democrats in order to get anything through Congress.

Washington needs an outsider to clean things up. I know Trump's the guy -- not because of those who endorse him, but because of those who hate his guts. A man is defined by his enemies.

President Trumps executive abilities will be tempered by his congressional enemies, and hopefully, the result would be a much needed 'clean up'. The worst outcome of a Trump presidency would be gridlock, -- which is preferable to more of the same bull under Cruz, or Clinton.

When Obama used executive orders, the MSM and the Democrats never complained. Based on that, so can Trump.

How would Trump get congressional support? One way would be to hold a press conference where he would read a list of names of Republicans who refuse to go along with a wall/tariffs/tax cuts/Muslim immigration/H1B hires/ or any other part of his agenda.

I'd say he'd only have to do that one time.

So it doesn't matter if the content of the executive order is Constitutional or not? That is what is at stake he. And yes every POTUS has acting in some unconstitutional manner starting from Washington on done. Why do you think the Constitution has such diminished relevance today? You can tell that by the time he called out Mitch McConnell on the Senate floor for being a liar during the Export import Bank negotiations . You can tell that by the times he's had filibusters by himself or with a couple other Senators attempting to block establishment sell outs . He alone did a 21 hour filibuster trying to block Obamacare . He alone tried to add defunding of Planned Parenthood in the budget negotiations .

My $0.02:

As much as we admire Ronald Reagan and the fact that he was the most conservative president since Calvin Coolidge, we need to be honest about what he accomplished.

And in the long term, it wasn't really much. (no reflection on him, it's a reflection on the corrupt political system)

Government still grew under his watch (albeit more slowly than it might have otherwise). And he was forced to put GHW Bush on his ticket as his VP.

Who - upon his election in '88 - basically undid all the gains that Reagan and conservatism had made.

And his (Bush I's) failed presidency led to the Xlintons. And the rest is history.

I agree with most of the comments here,

Our nation faces many, many huge issues. IMHO, the two largest issues are:

1. Immigration, legal & illegal

2. Trade

If we do not get those under control, and turned around to the USA's favor, our nation will cease to exist.

Of everybody running, IMHO only Trump has the will, and the ability to deal with those, to the benefit of the USA!

As someone said before, Pete I think, we could be heading to a civil war. To head that off, we have only one or two remaining chances to use the ballot box.

Therefore, I will vote for Trump. I pray that is the correct thing to do!
