New Jersey governor and former Republican candidate Chris Christie is endorsing frontrunner Donald Trump for president, he has announced. Mr Christie dropped out of the 2016 presidential race after a lacklustre showing in polls and state races. "I'm happy to be on the Trump team and I look forward to working with him," said Mr Christie during a press conference. He said Mr Trump gives Republicans the best chance to win the White House.

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie joined Trump in at a press conference in Forth Worth, Texas where he threw his support behind the front-runner. The announcement came just as Trump's opponent Marco Rubio had begun to dominate much of the political conversation following his performance during Thursday night's debate. 'The best person to beat Hillary Clinton on that state last night is undoubtedly Donald Trump.' Trump then spoke, saying; 'Generally speaking I'm not big on endorsements. This was an endorsement that really meant a lot.' Christie then added how proud he was to be on the 'Trump team,' and said he believed Trump 'will do what needs to be done to protect the American people.' The endorsement is a bit of a surprise, especially given how much the two went after one another while Christie was still in the race. 'How is Chris Christie running the state of NJ, which is deeply troubled, when he is spending all of his time in NH? New Jerseyans not happy!' wrote Trump on Twitter last November. Christie meanwhile attacked Trump just last month for his attitude after one debate, saying; 'What’s that tell you about what we can expect if things go sideways when you go into the Oval Office? What are you going to do? Go upstairs to the residence and say I’m not playing? 'You know, Vladimir Putin isn’t being nice to me, I’m not going to return his call? The press isn’t being nice to me, I’m not going to hold any more press conferences?' He also called him plan to block Muslim immigrants 'ridiculous' late last year. It also puts Governor Charlie Baker of Massachusetts in an odd position as he had endorsed Christie in the race. Your boy is on a roll. I think it will be very hard for either Rubio or Cruz to dethrone him. However if it goes to a brokered convention it is all over for the REPs, they may even lose the Senate.

It won't go to a brokered convention. Trump will sweep, or very nearly sweep, Super Tuesday, and will win the nomination handily, outright. And then the party will discover that Trump, the leader, is totally unafraid of Hillary. Sanders will hit Hillary from the Left, and Trump will hit her in the face for her personal incompetence and total corruption. Trump will win the general election, use all of the executive power that has been accumulated as precedent since Abraham Lincoln, pack the courts, thread the abortion needle, ally with Russia, win the war on terror, start building the wall (but never need to finish it, because enforcement will drive the illegals out and stop the flow coming in), partly close certain aspects of the American market to Chinese competition, get Americans back to work, and make America great again!

I have to admit the show that Hillary and Trump would put on would be entertaining, not quite high Kabuki theater but more like a Vaudeville version of a phony WWF wrestling match. Two master con artists being given the uber main stage for months on end. The MSM will be orgasmic.
