Queen Beatrix of The Netherlands attended a concert in the capital, Amsterdam. The Conductor, who just happens to be Muslim, proceeded to give the Queen a lecture on the "beauty" of Islam. The entire orchestra got up and walked out, refusing to be associated with someone lecturing their Queen. The staff of the music hall escorted the conductor off-stage, and after questioning, out of the building. Watch the walk out. It's my trademark! :^) In seriousness, US Presidents are actually treated like royalty. They close down major highways when the president is going to travel on it. That it's rush hour on a major city is no consideration. I think I remember properly in the early 90's when VP Dan Quayle made a visit near my workplace. They closed down the road for about 20 mins waiting for this dude to go by. The inconvenience to the lowly peons was no consideration, and that's when I realized how much royal treatment, literally, the US presidency gets. They have even tried to establish politically Royal Blood Lines. Hell,the one we have now thinks he is a African King despite not having to live in a mud hut with cattle. I doubt European royalty gets as much security as US presidents get. I can't speak for them all,but the European Royalty that still sits on thrones in Europe today get as much protection as any US president when making public appearances.
