A new miracle drug called pterostilbene prevents aging. It also prevents heart disease, and most forms of cancer, and Alzheimers.

Actually, it is not exactly new. Scientists have known for years that people who drink red wine with their meals live longer than people who don't. Now they have isolated the ingredient that prevents aging and made it available in pill form as a dietary supplement.

And it is cheap ($18 for a hundred day supply at Amazon.com).

Old age is scary. I am now 69 years old which is as old as I want to get, and now I can stay at 69 thank God. With all the advances in medicine nowadays, I have no doubt that people will some day live forever like the Bible says.

Exactly. That's why scientists have made a safe, non-alcoholic version of it. Or you can eat a bunch of red grapes every day which accomplishes the same thing.

We are already immortal, like the Bible says. Just not in human form.

Human immortality is overrated.

You may be right. But I prefer to think of God as a supersmart ET who obeys the laws of physics just like we do, though I'm sure he can make any type of new bodies for us He wants to in the afterlife, either physical or "spiritual." Either way, we will be able to live forever someday. But it is not something that human scientists cannot also accomplish in due time, because we are also becoming super-smart, and at a rapid pace. God may actually be a human from the future.

The laws of physics you refer to only apply to this universe, including all contents such as our human bodies. Souls, however, are not from this universe which is why the laws of physics, as we know it, don't apply to souls. It's the reason souls are immortal, and not subject to the laws of conservation of energy and thermal dynamics.

though I'm sure he can make any type of new bodies for us He wants to in the afterlife, either physical or "spiritual."

What I consider an erroneous assumption by many/most "religious" scholars is that souls are merely a byproduct of human conception, and that souls are merely the consciousness part of the human person, and that all other traits, such as general personality, sense of humor, and virtues and vices are simply an aspect of the human mind.

To the contrary, the soul defines the vast majority of our personal identity. Our human body only the minor part of our identity. It's the reason why identical twins can often have very different personalities in spite of having identical DNA. Ergo, there is no need for new physical bodies in the afterlife in order to fully exist. Souls preexisted before incarnating into human form and upon death return to the spirit world where we came from. In this way, it is no more a miracle that incarnation can happen multiple times than it can happen a single time.

God may actually be a human from the future.

Not at all. God is of outside this universe. The human race is merely a tool for our spiritual growth. It's why I mentioned before that the human race is expendable, but souls are not.

With all the advances in medicine nowadays, I have no doubt that people will some day live forever like the Bible says.

The Bible says that the wage of sin is death.

So, if you want to live forever, don't sin.

Too late? Already sinned? Eeesh. Well, then you're going to die. You can still live forever, as a spirit, but in the flesh? Nope. Once upon a time you could have, maybe, if you avoided all sin, and nobody else killed you with his sin. But then you hit age 5 or 6 or 7 and began to sin - by lying, stealing, hurting people, being mean. And you lost the eternal life in the flesh (or at least life until the end of the world0 when you succumbed to that base temptation and ate the forbidden fruit of sin. You WERE immortal once, maybe, just as you were once a virgin, but you sinned and you're not anymore, and you can't get immortality or virginity back. Once they're lost, they're lost for good.

The good news is that you do get to live on and on after death, as a spirit.

No chemical will ever be found that lets our bodies not die. And even if we find something that helps extend life, accidents, crime and viruses will still get us.

Hebrews 9:27King James Version (KJV)

27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

I know everything there is to know about the Bible because I have been studying it since I was knee-high to a duck. I learned to read by reading the King James Bible, and you cannot tell me anything about the Bible I don't already know. But I also know pretty much everything there is know about what scientists have discovered in my lifetime because I studied physics in college and have kept up with the latest scientific discoveries by subscribing to Scientific American and Discover, etc. So I have put two and two together as the saying goes. The world scoffs at Christianity because of Christians like you who deny science. I am attempting to make Christianity respected again.

Hebrews 9:27 is 100 % correct. The Bible indicates that you and I will soon be able to live to be a thousand years old, but at the end of the 1000 years we all die when the earth is destroyed by fire, most likely from MAD (Mutual Assured Destruction) resulting from an all-out nuclear war (and our weapons will likely be much more powerful a thousand years from now). Then we are resurrected and judged by God. Those found worthy get to go and live on a new earth without any sea (most likely Mars) where we will live forever. I am not sure what kind of body we will have. The others will be thrown back into the lake of fire which the earth will have become.

Many chemicals have already been found that extend life. Accidents and crime may get some of us, but deadly viruses very likely won't kill us anymore at some point, because they will have all been cured by the chemicals you scoff at. But the Bible does indicate that a thousand years from now we will all be killed by a fiery nuclear war.

Chemicals have been found that, coupled with other life factors, may extend life a year or two. Proper diet, exercise and clean living will extend it by 20 over the average. And when I walk between my car and the office in the morning at sunrise, I have walked a percentage of the distance to the moon. That doesn't mean that if I keep walking I will get to the moon.

Without training, a man can hold his breath for a minute or two. With training, he can hold it for 4 - doubling the time. With extensive training, deep breathing techniques and meditation, a man can hold his breath for 17 minutes, a 1700% increase over the regular guy.

An even better-trained guru might be able to make it to 18, or 20, or 25. No amount of training, meditation and technique will ever allow a man to make it to 5 hours without a breath.

The difference between drugs that extend life and their absence is the difference between the trained breather and the untrained breather. The difference between diet and exercise and regular living is the difference between the guru who can hold his breath for five minutes versus the untrained breather. But the difference between life extension through drugs and immortality is the difference between the guy who can hold his breath for 17 minutes, and the guy who can hold his breath for 14 months.

The world also scoffs at creationists like you who take every word in Genesis 1 literally. The earth is not 6000 years old. Like many theologians, I view Geneses 1 as a 7000 year prophecy. Exactly 4000 years before Christ the first civilized man appeared in the Garden of Eden, also called Mesopotamia and the Fertile Crescent (now Iraq and Syria). At the beginning of the 2nd 1000-year day, civilized man began to spread out to virtually every continent on earth (except Antartica). Shortly after the beginning of the third 1000-year day, God also caused Abraham to leave Eden/Mesopotamia and migrate to what is now Israel, and promised to make his descendants into a great nation there (thus the term Promised Land). At the beginning of Day 4, King David conquered Jerusalem completing the conquest of the Promised Land, and the Jews ruled it for a thousand years. Then, exactly 4000 years after Adam appeared, Jesus the Messiah was born, as the wise men and much of Jerusalem anticipated (based on Genesis 1). For 1000 years things went according to plan and the Church was united as one. Then, at the beginning of Day 6, the Pope added one word to the Nicene Creed which caused a Great Schism, and from there things deteriated until there were thousands of schisms. Also at the beginning of Day 6, Hakim the Mad began to persecute Christians in the Holy Land which led to the Crusades. At the beginning of Day 7, the Battle of Ar Mageddon, also called the Battle of That Great Day of God Almighty, began when the Euphrates was dry, as prophesied (i.e., on 9/11). It results in Satan being so soundly defeated that he wont be heard from again for a thousand years. At the end of Day 7 the earth will be destroyed, ending the 7000-year reign of man on earth.

Yes you are a liar. It says day over and over.

A thousand years is a joke. What is hat 500 years of darkness.

You're a clown.

Genesis 1King James Version (KJV)

1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.

5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

6 And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.

7 And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.

8 And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.

9 And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.

10 And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good.

11 And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.

12 And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

13 And the evening and the morning were the third day.

14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:

15 And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.

16 And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.

17 And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth,

18 And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.

19 And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.

20 And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.

21 And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

22 And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.

23 And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.

24 And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so.

25 And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.

30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.

31 And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

Yes you are a liar. It says day over and over.

The Bible clearly says that with God, a thousand years is one day. And the wise men and most Jews at the time of Christ clearly took that literally and interpreted Genesis 1 exactly like I and all dispensationists do. All scientists say the earth is nearly 5 billion years old, so why are you reverting to the dark ages by saying the earth is 6000 years old? And how do explain the dinasours? You are a prime example of why the world scoffs at Christianity.

It doesn't say that at all. That isn't the truth.

It actually says

2 Peter 3:8King James Version (KJV)

8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

Here is your lesson for the day. "Is" is not the same as "as".

You are out of context. He is talking about the earth. Not being with God.

You need to just take the word for what it says and quit making stuff up out of thin air.

Many Christians (if not most) are dispensationists like me, so there is no way anyone can say my view is not Christian. I have predicted every major event of the last 25 years with 100 % accuracy proving beyond a shadow of a doubt that my eschatological view of Genesis 1, et al, is correct. You and your ilk who say the earth is 6000 years old are the only ones making Christians look like idiots.

You made up Genesis is 7000 years.

LOL. That is what most Jews and most Christians have been saying for thousands of years.

So God according to you lied about no death before sin.

You're a fool and I will be sure to remind you of that fact constantly.

In 2012, German freediver Tom Sietas held his breath underwater for 22 minutes and 22 seconds, besting Dane Stig Severinsen's previous Guinness record by 22 seconds.

The Bible indicates that you and I will soon be able to live to be a thousand years old

before that happens most people on Earth are going to die and those that don't are out of here. Have you truely contemplated what it might be like to live a thousand years. I have already contemplated that I've seen enough already. It becomes harder and harder to adapt to change. For the moment God has appointed a time limit and you can observe that most of the human race conforms to this time limit. Removing disease has increased the number of people surviving. Better diet has increased the number of people surviving. Now people have been drinking red wine for a long time and yet it may be observed that those surviving longest might not and eating apricots is the way to go.

That is complete nonsense because Jesus never mentioned a rapture. It is a figment of Paul's imagination. The history books tell us that the second coming of Jesus was in 312AD (when the sign of Christ appeared in the clouds and Jesus appeared to St. Constantine and said "By this, conquer"). And there was no rapture. Instead, Constantine sent his messengers with a trumpet and gathered the elect of all the Church together, to Nicea, just as Jesus prophesied (in Mat.24:31). Paul was a heretic.

I have no idea what you're talking about. God is not capable of lying.
