Title: A new miracle drug prevents aging

A new miracle drug called pterostilbene prevents aging. It also prevents heart disease, and most forms of cancer, and Alzheimers.

Actually, it is not exactly new. Scientists have known for years that people who drink red wine with their meals live longer than people who don't. Now they have isolated the ingredient that prevents aging and made it available in pill form as a dietary supplement.

And it is cheap ($18 for a hundred day supply at Amazon.com).

Old age is scary. I am now 69 years old which is as old as I want to get, and now I can stay at 69 thank God. With all the advances in medicine nowadays, I have no doubt that people will some day live forever like the Bible says.

Yes you are a liar. It says day over and over.

A thousand years is a joke. What is hat 500 years of darkness.

You're a clown.

Genesis 1King James Version (KJV)

1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.

5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

6 And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.

7 And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.

8 And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.

9 And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.

10 And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good.

11 And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.

12 And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

13 And the evening and the morning were the third day.

14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:

15 And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.

16 And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.

17 And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth,

18 And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.

19 And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.

20 And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.

21 And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

22 And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.

23 And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.

24 And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so.

25 And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.

30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.

31 And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

Yes you are a liar. It says day over and over.

The Bible clearly says that with God, a thousand years is one day. And the wise men and most Jews at the time of Christ clearly took that literally and interpreted Genesis 1 exactly like I and all dispensationists do. All scientists say the earth is nearly 5 billion years old, so why are you reverting to the dark ages by saying the earth is 6000 years old? And how do explain the dinasours? You are a prime example of why the world scoffs at Christianity.

The Bible clearly says that with God, a thousand years is one day.

It doesn't say that at all. That isn't the truth.

It actually says

2 Peter 3:8King James Version (KJV)

8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

Here is your lesson for the day. "Is" is not the same as "as".

You are out of context. He is talking about the earth. Not being with God.

You need to just take the word for what it says and quit making stuff up out of thin air.

Many Christians (if not most) are dispensationists like me, so there is no way anyone can say my view is not Christian. I have predicted every major event of the last 25 years with 100 % accuracy proving beyond a shadow of a doubt that my eschatological view of Genesis 1, et al, is correct. The Bible indicates that you and I will soon be able to live to be a thousand years old

before that happens most people on Earth are going to die and those that don't are out of here. Have you truely contemplated what it might be like to live a thousand years. I have already contemplated that I've seen enough already. It becomes harder and harder to adapt to change. For the moment God has appointed a time limit and you can observe that most of the human race conforms to this time limit. Removing disease has increased the number of people surviving. Better diet has increased the number of people surviving. Now people have been drinking red wine for a long time and yet it may be observed that those surviving longest might not and eating apricots is the way to go.

That is complete nonsense because Jesus never mentioned a rapture. It is a figment of Paul's imagination. The history books tell us that the second coming of Jesus was in 312AD (when the sign of Christ appeared in the clouds and Jesus appeared to St. Constantine and said "By this, conquer"). And there was no rapture. Instead, Constantine sent his messengers with a trumpet and gathered the elect of all the Church together, to Nicea, just as Jesus prophesied (in Mat.24:31). Paul was a heretic.

I am shocked and dismayed that someone still believes such stupidity. Have you ever been to school, or ever been to Church? That hasn't been taught for 200 years.

The Earth in its current form could be 6,000 years old. Scripture might support that theory(the gap between (Genesis 1.1 and Genesis 1.2) Certainly the present era isn't much more than 10,000 years and formless and void might mean a ice world.

As to a literal view of Genisis being taught you must think me more than 200 years old since I was taught that view. I think we have to get past the fact that God through Moses has told us what we need to know, not what we want to know. How old the Earth is isn't as important as knowing who God is and why events have taken the course they did..

I am surprised to know your identification as a christian, I thought you might be a Jehovah's Witness and we were been treated to an article in Awake

There are probably two people in the world who think the earth is 6000 years old, and both of you are on LF. LOL.

Seriously though, we are not that far apart. The present era is indeed about 6000 years old, 6016 to be exact. Both the Bible and the historians say it began in the Garden of Eden (also called Mesopotamia and the Fertile Crescent) around 4000 BC. That's where the first civilization sprang up, and the first writing, etc, in short the first civilized man. Do you know what the first writing was?

Give up? It was "grapes + barley + hops" (the recipe for beer). So beer is what stated everything. Because while grapes were plentiful, they had to cultivate the barley and hops, and the Garden of Eden/Fertile Crescent was the most fertile place on earth. But on the other hand, you can argue that beer, called "strong drink" in the OT, is forbidden, so fermented grapes were probably the forbidden fruit. But it was all they had to make beer with back then, because it was the only source of yeast. You could also say that it leads to knowledge (including the knowledge of good and evil). So it all seems to hinge on the discovery of fermented grapes and beer.

LOL. Grape vines in the wild all grow on trees, so I have not twisted anything. When I was a kid, grape vines covered most all of our trees, and also most all of the fence. They'll grow on most anything, but they have to have something to grow on, silly. And red grapes, and especially the red wine made from them, prevent aging as I pointed out in my original post, so grapes may also be the key to eternal life. They are both good and bad at the same time. Everything seems to hinge on fermented grapes.

I used to grow grapes so I know about them. Red wine might harvest a few free radicals but alcohol has other downsides which don't contribute to centuries of age, fermented apple juice has great propertities too and as I said before apricots are very beneficial Stop thinking about monoculture

Yes, too much red wine can be bad for you. It can damage your kidneys, and you might get behind the wheel of a car and kill somebody. That's why I said it can be bad and it can be good. But as far as I know, apples, or apricots, or any other fruit doesn't have the same benefits with the possible exception of blueberries which don't grow on trees. And let me ask you this: Do you know of any other fruit other than fermented grapes that God would have any reason to ban? And I am just repeating what all historians say: fermented grapes and the beer made from them is the whole reason that civilization came about -- in the Garden of Eden in 4000 BC as the Bible also indicates.

Stop thinking about monoculture

I've never heard of the term monoculture before so I looked it up on Wiki. I am not talking about modern farming practices, and there is no way that what I said fits that definition. I'm talking about the way God created things. Red grapes were the only kind of grape there was in the days of Adam and Eve. Seedless white grapes were created by man thousands of years later. They have little or no medicinal value. In my opinion, God generally creates things better than man does. And Adam and Eve didn't plant just one crop, they planted barley and hops and in no time their decendants were planting all the vegetables and herbs that we eat today.

Jesus and the disciples drank red wine with every meal (and also at marriage feasts). And I suspect John drank a lot of it because he lived to be over 100 years old. My grandmother was part of the original Brady Bunch in Texas, from Brady Texas. She was one of 12 children and most of them lived to be a hundred, and the rest lived to be in their 90's, and most of the Brady's drink a little red wine with their meal. My problem is I love beer (a little two much), and I don't like wine. So I'm switching to red wine in safe, non-alcoholic pill form.

I forgot to add that almost all Christians drink some red wine on Sunday Morning (though a few have demoted it to Sunday night or Wednesday night which is not right). Jesus said to do it every Sunday morning. And the Episcopal Church, and most Churches in America water it down so it will be legal to serve to minors. And some Churches go so far as to serve non-alcoholic grape juice. Jesus and the disciples drank real red wine as did Adam and Eve. It is the tree of life, and should not be watered down.
