Everyone hates vaping, and they hate it for no good reason. Like all the other things that were once considered a fringe of teen culture, vaping is going mainstream. Duncan Hunter, a Republican Congressman from San Diego, made this point this morning when he, the elected representative of California’s 50th District, vaped-while-legislating on the floor of the United States House of Representatives, according to Gawker. Hunter’s vape-sesh occurred during a discussion by the Congressional Transport Committee over whether or not vaporizers should be permitted on airplanes. Hunter, an ex-smoker who used a vaporizer to quit using cigarettes, argued that vaporizer technology is revolutionizing the way people quit smoking. “Smoking has gone down as the use of vaporizers has gone up,” he explained. "There’s no burning, there’s nothing noxious. This has helped thousands of people quit smoking, it helped me quit smoking. And in the next decade, you’re going to be able to inhale your ibuprofen, your Prozac, and anything else you need drug wise." Hunter continued: “For freedom’s sake, and for the sake of people who are trying to quit smoking, and quit dipping, and still have nicotine, I would urge my friends here and colleagues to oppose this amendment.” His friends and colleagues didn’t see it this quite way, and chose to vote in favor of the amendment. It looks like there won’t be any vaping on planes anytime soon. Poster Comment:
