Title: Jimmy Carter: I would choose Donald Trump over Ted Cruz

Former President Jimmy Carter told the British Parliament on Wednesday that if he had to choose between Republican candidates Donald Trump and Ted Cruz, he'd prefer to see Trump win the White House.

"I think I would choose Trump," the liberal former president said to the House of Lords, when asked about the U.S. presidential race, "which may surprise some of you, but the reason is Trump has proven already that he's completely malleable. I don't think he has any fixed opinions that he would really go to the White House and fight for."

By contrast, Carter said, "Ted Cruz is not malleable. He has far right-wing policies, in my opinion, that would be pursued aggressively if and when he would become president."

Later in the day in Nashua, New Hamsphire, Cruz told supporters about Carter's remarks.

"Today -- and I'm not making this up -- Jimmy Carter endorsed Donald Trump," he said. "Here's what Jimmy Carter said: the reason is Donald's views are malleable, he has no core beliefs on anything... This Cruz guy actually believes this stuff."

Cruz added, "I want the video, and I am going to pay to air Jimmy Carter attacking me."

Of course, Carter didn't "endorse" Trump, as Cruz said.

The former president reminded the Brish lawmakers that he's a Democrat, and he said he'll support whichever Democratic candidate wins the nomination.

"It's very likely Hillary Clinton will still prevail in the Democratic Party," Carter said. "Bernie Sanders, though, has had a remarkable showing, particularly among young people."

Carter said the future of the Republican Party is "almost completely unpredictable," though he ventured that Trump will ultimately "fade away... when people get ready to actually put on a ballot, 'this is a person I want to lead me for the next four years.'"

He also observed that Cruz has "zero support" from his fellow senators. Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, Carter speculated, "has a better chance, ultimately, than Ted Cruz."

Carter also lamented the "massive infusion of money into the American political system."

What we have here, is the one of the worst presidents in American history detailing his preference for Donald Trump as a presidential candidate. It is one more reason why I won't vote for Trump.

An airplane was about to crash; there were 5 passengers on board but only 4 parachutes.

The first passenger, Holly Madison said "I have my own reality show and I am the smartest and prettiest woman at Playboy and Americans don't want me to die." She took the first pack and jumped out of the airplane.

The second passenger, John McCain said "I'm a senator and a decorated war hero from an elite Navy unit from the United States of America." So he grabbed the second pack and jumped.

The third passenger, Donald Trump said "I am going to be the next president of the United States, I'm the smartest man in our country, and I'm going to make America great again." So he grabbed the pack next to him and jumped out.

The fourth passenger, Billy Graham, said to the fifth passenger, a ten-year-old schoolgirl "I have lived a full life and served my god the best I could. I will sacrifice my life and let you have the last parachute."

The little girl said "That's okay, Mr. Graham. There's a parachute left for you. The smartest man in America just took my schoolbag."

Cruz is a well practiced liar, as he once again demonstrates.

With poisonous recommendations such as this from Carter, you don't need enemies. He just said he prefered Trump because Trump was a weak, vascillating, undependable asshole.

The original version I heard of that was Henry Kissinger using a hippies knapsack as a parachute, back in 1978.

A stopped clock is right twice a day. Carter is right that Trump would make a far better President than Cruz. But not because Trump is "malleable" - Trump's view of immigration and trade has been fixed for a long time. Trump is a businessman who is used to having to deal with adversaries, to negotiate, to find a reasonable outcome that both sides can live with, so that his projects progress.

Cruz is indeed absolutely rigid. Unbending. About everything.

We may see a President Trump, but we will never see a President Cruz. Because the majority of the country does not agree with one single point of any of Cruz's rigidities. With Cruz, you get full- on, uncompromising evangelical prosperity gospel capitalism with Pharisaic law enforcement, Israel first, wide open trade with China, a new Cold War with Russia - slashed social welfare programs - the full hard right's wet dream.

Which means that the Democrats win in a landslide.

Trump's popularity is based, first and foremost, on closing that Border and stopping the illegal immigration. Trump will build a wall. Cruz will not. Cruz is bought and paid for by Goldman Sachs, and Goldman Sachs LOVES that cheap exploitable imported labor. Cruz will throw boob bait to bubbas on the Border, but he will be exactly like Bush, McCain and the other Republicans. He'll play make believe, but leave the Border open, because his economic masters and benefactors want it that way, and his wife's Goldman Sachs profits - which are the biggest part of Cruz's own income - depend on keeping it that way.

So, with Cruz, you get more of the same on the Border. With Trump you get change. If Trump wins, it will be because the majority of Americans are sick of the open border.

With Cruz, you get "free" trade with China, as before. The Chinese flag hung on the Goldman Sachs building on Wall Street for years in the 'Naughties. It was unsubtle. He is an unabashed free trader, and will remain so. And that is not what the American people want.

With Cruz, Obamacare stays as is, because Congress hates him and will dig in. With Trump, Obamacare will be a gone, you'll have a national insurance market (state restrictions will go away and people will be able to buy in a bigger market), and there will be some sort of program to subsidize the working poor so they can get health insurance. It will be a much better system, because Trump will be able to keep the negotiation going until a deal is reached.

With Cruz you get an outright Cold War with Russia. And if he tries to impose a no-fly zone on Russian forces in Syria, you get a hot war, with Russia. Which is insane.

With Trump, you get a peaceful settlement with Russia, Russian alliance in killing the radical Muslims, and de-escalation of tensions.

And finally, with Cruz you get Hillary or Bernie Sanders, because the country won't vote for Cruz. With Trump, you get Trump, because the country will vote for him.

I'm for Ted Cruz, but I think the only advice Jimmah can give at this point is for the best brand of adult underwear to handle dripping. Assuming he was ever qualified to give advice about anything.

Obama has played at being a president while enjoying the perks … golf, insanely expensive vacations at tax-payer expense. He has ignored the responsibilities of the job; no plans, no budgets, no alternatives … just finger pointing; making him a complete failure as a president

No surprise that you see Cruz as a threat to the Vaticans fascist version of communism.

You talk like a false prophet.

You should consider changing your tone from what will happen to what you think will happen.

I mean you get so much wrong. Not just about the Bible either.

Perhaps false prophet is to harsh.

It makes you sound like you are full of it.

Like when you swore Biden was 100 percent going to be the nominee.

You would sound and be more respectable imo.

Just my 3 cents.

It's not too late for Jimmy Carter to jump into the race in New Hampshire and knock Tronal Dump, Bernie, and the rest of the new wave faux commies out of the race.
