I see no estimates to how much it will cost to levitate one of these plants but I think the electric bill would be pretty high. Maybe they only expect you to turn it on when you're home or entertaining and it will otherwise just sit on its base.
It has a maximum plant weight of 300 grams; the plant is on a disc that is less than 2.5" in diameter. It only floats 2cm (.78 inch) above its base. But it does rotate.
I don't think it would consume that much electricity... A standard 7 watt nite lite is roughly the equivalent of 5 ft-lbf/s... And we'll just call that 60 in-lbf/s... which is way more than what's needed to lift a little bonzai plant 1"
That's a very crude estimate which would probably earn me a D- in whatever engineering course I took 40 years ago when I was supposed to know how to calculate that crap. LOL!
