To: tomder55 (#1) (Edited) Daesh ....you mean Islamic state By now Tom you would be aware that many including leaders refer to the jihadists in Iraq and Syria as Daesh because the title although an acromyn is considered insulting. Firstly because it doesn't include recognition of their so called "state" and secondly because it sounds like arabic words that speak of a degraded nature. There are many places in the world where this organisation is a problem and so it is appropriate not to refer to just the ME. The indonesians adopted a business as usual approach and carried on thier investigations without disrupting the country, while the French went into high security lock down mode. I expect this is because the Indonesians have greater recent experience in dealing with jihadists. They know there isn't a jihadist behind every door even though they probably have a higher jihadist population than the whole of Europe. They certainly have had many attacks in recent years and it isn't so long ago they were fighting a sectarian war in Aceh.
