Obama vows to cure cancer ‘once and for all’

The Hill ^ | Jan 16, 2015 | Sarah Ferris

Posted on 01/12/2016 6:36:14 PM PST

President Obama is pledging a "new national effort" to find a cure for cancer in his final State of the Union address on Tuesday.

"For the loved ones we've all lost, for the family we can still save, let’s make America the country that cures cancer once and for all," Obama wrote in his joint address to Congress, according to remarks released by the White House.

Obama said the efforts are inspired by, and will be led by, Vice President Biden, who has launched a high-profile push to end cancer after losing his oldest son last year.

"Last year, Vice President Biden said that with a new moonshot, America can cure cancer," Obama said Tuesday. "Tonight, I'm announcing a new national effort to get it done."

Just hours earlier Tuesday, a group of biotech companies, drugmakers, doctors and researchers formally announced a coalition called the Cancer MoonShot 2020, a reference to Biden's speech in the Rose Garden last October when he promised a "moon shot" to end cancer. Poster'not: When the two imbeciles Obama and Biden decree it, it will be done. I could ask either of them for the formula for butyl alcohol and they would both be stuck for an answer. But they are both issuing pronouncements as if they know something the entire medical and pharmaceutical research effort hasn't found out how to do in decades.

America can cure cancer

yes it can by changing lifestyle, meaning no tobacco, no alcohol, no drugs, no fast food, no GMO, no hormones, no mobile phones, no preservatives, active life style and probably any number of other changes

Whenever you hear someone say this, you have to conclude they have no idea what cancer is and all the thousands of types of cancer requiring entirely different kinds of treatments.

When I hear such claims, I always conclude it's a con man or a scammer or an ignoramus. With Obola, I think we've hit the trifecta.

should be a piece of cake for the emperor who can stop the rising tides . Clete ,growing old is the biggest risk factor in cancer . Medical technology has allowed the average age of humans to increase .

'When people hit middle age, the cells within their body may have a midlife crisis of their own that could cause cancer.

A new study suggests that this midlife cellular breakdown might help explain why growing older is the single biggest risk factor for cancer and nearly 80% of cancers are diagnosed after age 55.'

http://www.webmd.com/cancer/news/20030925/growing-old-cancer

Maybe the emperor's moonshot should be research to end the aging process . But what the emperor did not mention is that the US government has averaged $4.9 billion in funding cancer research over the past six years ;and that doesn't include how much Americans spent privately for cancer research . How much more is he asking for ?

Dr. Margaret Cuomo (sister of New York Gov. ilDuce Andrew Cuomo) wrote about her perspective on this in her recent book, ' A World Without Cancer.'

"More than 40 years after the war on cancer was declared, we have spent billions fighting the good fight. The National Cancer Institute has spent some $90 billion on research and treatment during that time. Some 260 nonprofit organizations in the United States have dedicated themselves to cancer — more than the number established for heart disease, AIDS, Alzheimer’s disease, and stroke combined. Together, these 260 organizations have budgets that top $2.2 billion."

"It’s true there have been small declines in some common cancers since the early 1990s, including male lung cancer and colon and rectal cancer in both men and women. And the fall in the cancer death rate — by approximately 1 percent a year since 1990 — has been slightly more impressive. Still, that’s hardly cause for celebration. Cancer’s role in one out of every four deaths in this country remains a haunting statistic."

"As a result of the billions put into cancer research, we do know a lot about what causes cancer, how cancers grow, and how cancers spread. We have ideas about how to stop cancer. But the process of translating laboratory advances into the clinic has been agonizingly slow. This because cancer isn't one disease, but a general term for many diseases that have some things in common and many things that vary from one type of cancer to another.

Even within a cancer, like breast cancer, we are finding that there are different subtypes that have different molecular signatures that should be attacked in different ways. And we're making progress.

But we should also understand that for the most part, cancer is a disease of aging, and we aren't close to solving that problem. We're finding that cancer survivors are developing second and third cancers. So there are going to be significant limits on what cancer treatment can accomplish. I don't think that we'll ever defeat aging."

You are obviously as stupid as they are,or you would know that most cancer is genetic based, and that not all cancers are alike. Treatment that works for one doesn't necessarily work for another.

I concluded long ago that neither Bathhouse Barry nor Uncle Joe Biden understand any concept more complex than "water, wet","fire, hot". Truth to tell,I'm not even sure Biden understands that much. Obomber likes him so much because Biden is the only white man he knows that is dumber than he is.

Hell,Goober Gore is smarter than both of them,so what does that say for their intelligence?

The emperor spoke off the cuff yesterday and used the "moonshot" reference again when speaking about energy and climate change. He sounded just as stupid .

“How do we reignite that spirit of innovation to meet our biggest challenge? Sixty years ago, when the Russians beat us into space, we didn’t deny Sputnik was up there. We didn’t argue about the science or shrink our research and development budget, we built a space program almost overnight and twelve years later, we were walking on the moon.”

Actually I think we verified that Sputnik did indeed launch . We did not take it on faith or the words of the Goracle who said in 2006 ;"WE ONLY HAVE TEN YEARS LEFT TO SAVE THE PLANET FROM A SCORCHING!!!". Back then Sputnik data didn't get manipulated to fit the narrative because the actual data was contrary to the data. We were able to apply the scientific method to confirm that Sputnik was up there.

I wonder if the emperor realizes that he was touting the spirit of innovation brought on by competitition ?

I saw a comparison on FNC of a clip from West Wing where the prez (Rob Lowe) vows to cure cancer within 10 years.

Sounds like they just reworked a West Wing script and tossed it in there.

Maybe there is some daunting new cancer treatment news coming out soon and the WH knows it and Obola wants to grab credit for it by tossing this into his SOTU. Then in 6 months, "Hey, I did cure cancer, ya know. Ignorant Republican scum!".

Growing old is the biggest risk factor for everthing. When I was 55 years old I could squat 750 pounds as easily as other people could lift a tooth pick. That was an artificially imposed upper limit I imposed to prevent bone fracture. Now the doctors tell me that was impossible and I have difficulty picking up a doughnut. Age invariably administers some horrible lessons in humility.

Their are cures already. Cannabis oils, raw foods diet, ozonated water, on the more traditional and FDA approved list you have insightec and novocure and the work of Antony holland ion frequency therapy is being studied, their are actully a few cures out there.... But cancer donation is big money, bigger than the medical treatment aspect of the industry, and if these cures were common knowledge and regularly practiced that billion dollar a year charity would no longer be able to support the lifestyles the CEOs have become accustomed too..... But who knows, maybe they could shift their cause to curing affluenza.

The War on Cancer has a catchy ring

But that's Nixon's deal.

"National Cancer Act of 1971

In 1970, the American people made clear their desire for a cure for the second- leading cause of death in the United States. President Nixon responded during his January 1971 State of the Union address: "I will also ask for an appropriation of an extra $100 million to launch an intensive campaign to find a cure for cancer, and I will ask later for whatever additional funds can effectively be used. The time has come in America when the same kind of concentrated effort that split the atom and took man to the moon should be turned toward conquering this dread disease. Let us make a total national commitment to achieve this goal."

As part of this national effort, in October 1971, the Army's Fort Detrick, Maryland, biological warfare facility was converted to a cancer research center, eventually becoming the Frederick Cancer Research and Development Center, an internationally recognized center for cancer and AIDS research.

On December 23, 1971, President Nixon followed through on his promise as he signed the National Cancer Act into law, declaring, "I hope in the years ahead we will look back on this action today as the most significant action taken during my Administration."1

The National Cancer Act (P.L. 92–218), "The War on Cancer," gave the NCI unique autonomy at NIH with special budgetary authority. The Cancer Chemotherapy National Service Center (CCNSC) increased its efforts to acquire new compounds for testing with the awarding of an acquisition and inventory contract responsible for the collection and documentation of test agents."

It's new. That's all.... Well sorta new. I only know about it because I use rife machine to help people. That technology is over eighty years old and highly discredited and suppressed. Novocure and insightec are less than a decade old but are FDA approved and used but only by doctors that know about it... Cost is another issue. A novocure unit is like twenty thousand to rent and most insurances don't cover it yet .... I treat people for tips or for free with my machines and knowledge. Some conspiracies are real and sick. Novocure ain't being surprised though ... Nor is insightec which is great to me... My dream is for stuff like that to become common place so I don't have to do what I do.... I'd like to be made obsolete and for radio frequency therapy to become mainstream and common place. But yeah ask your oncologist abut novocure.

A man of your obvious brilliance should make this stuff availiable to the public along with a guarantee of a cure. In a year you could be richer than Bill Gates. If you are adverse to getting rich curing dying people, you could start a medical research foundation using Google as your guide to cure all known diseases on the planet and get a Nobel prize.

You might think that but you'd be wrong. Most people won't accept the offer of free help. Kinda why I offer it for tips. More over I am becoming obsolete. Novocure and insightec are real and FDA approved. Administered by people with degrees and accreditation. I'm a layman that just happens to be smart and that's not good enough for many folks.

Just being smart isnt enough for most. But at least I know how to take care of myself and others that are willing to accept the offer free help.

This is not new. It's been around since 2011. Every credible doctor in the field would know about. Funny thing is not one of whom with which we spoke in the past month even mentioned it - and we spoke to the higher ups in Duke, MD Anderson, Cleveland Clinic, UT Southwestern, University of Colorado, Brigham and Womens (Harvard, et.al)

"The FDA approval follows a priority review of the Optune Premarket Approval (PMA) supplement application. The FDA grants priority review status to medical devices that are intended to treat life-threatening diseases and that offer clinically meaningful advantages over existing approved alternatives. Optune was previously approved in April 2011 for the treatment of adult patients with GBM following tumor recurrence after receiving chemotherapy"
