GOP frontrunner Donald Trump reacted to recent reports that Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) 86% may endorse Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) 79% for president by saying Gowdy’s Benghazi hearings “were a disaster.” “His hearings were a disaster. Everybody was looking forward to something that was going to be really productive,” Trump said Sunday morning on Fox & Friends. “And he didn’t win with those hearings. It was a total not-good for Republicans and for the country.” Trump was referring to Gowdy’s Benghazi committee hearing where Democrat frontrunner Hillary Clinton was questioned for 11 hours on her email scandal and the 2012 terrorist attack in Benghazi, Libya, where four Americans were killed. “I mean, beyond Republicans, it was very bad for the country,” Trump stated. “So I hope he does a lot better for Marco than he did for the Benghazi hearings. Because they were not good. That was not a pretty picture.” Gowdy, R-S.C., announced he is set to campaign with Rubio in Iowa, and he called Rubio a “rock-solid conservative.” “I’ve been seeing on Twitter many, many people extremely angry about the whole thing. Because, you know, Marco’s been very strong for amnesty and very weak at the border. And a lot of people are very upset with Trey Gowdy for doing that,” Trump added. Trump also retweeted various tweets where people bashed Gowdy. One person called Gowdy a “loser” and another person said Gowdy “let Hillary get away with murder.”

I think a number of conservatives had misplaced trust in Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC).

great idea ;completely alienate any possible ally he may have in the House . Does he plan on disbanning the House with all those executive powers when they don't cooperate with him ?

Gowdy tried to make an alternate bill ,and did not support the Gang of 8 . BTW ,since the Gang of 8 ,Rubio has changed his views and has scrapped any idea of a path to citizenship. You guys like candidates who change their positions from a few years ago for political expediency ;right ? You must so because Trump changes his like the wind.

So let me get this straight ,you are comfortable with Trump's seemingly constant changing position on immigration recently ,but Rubio is locked into a policy he supported in 2013 ,even though he clearly has stated that he now believes in enforcing existing law ? Rubio is a liar. He campaigned on not supporting amnesty. The first thing he does is support amensty. Piece of shit Rubio also said he would not undo Obamas executive amensty. The asswipe didn't even vote against Syrain refugees. He is the same as Hillary and you can't tell me any differences save superficial ones. Trumps position on immigration is pretty consistent.
