Dozens were injured, many seriously. At the time of the rampage, per early reports, Holloway’s three year old daughter was in the back seat of the car. She was not hurt. Apparently, the suspect had been homeless for more than a week and living out of her car in and around Las Vegas. Initial media reports ruled out terrorism. But… During a press conference Monday afternoon, though, the sheriff said he had not yet ruled out terrorism as a motive. After the rampage, a witness described Holloway as “stoic:” The crash happened on a busy stretch of Las Vegas Boulevard across from the dancing water fountains of the Bellagio hotel-casino where visitors crowd sidewalks as they head from one casino to another. The Miss Universe pageant was being held nearby at Planet Hollywood. Holloway drove a few blocks to a hotel, parked and asked a valet to call police, saying she had run over some people on the Strip, Lombardo said. She was stoic when she was arrested, he said. Lombardo said police did not have a definitive motive but that they believe she had a falling out with the father of her child before the crash. A drug recognition expert on the scene determined Holloway was under the influence of a “stimulant,” but blood test results were pending. One witness described the speed of the car in the 30 to 40 miles per hour range. according="/

The authorities still haven't released the "manifesto" of Vester Lee Flanagan — a.k.a. Bryce Williams — who shot that reporter and cameraman.

From OregonLive.com: Clark County Nevada law enforcement officials identified the woman who repeatedly drove up and down a Las Vegas sidewalk Sunday night striking pedestrians and killing one, as 24-year-old Lakeisha N. Holloway of Portland. Jessica Valenzuela, 32, of Buckeye, Arizona died in the incident, according to the Clark County coroner’s office. Holloway was booked into the Clark County Detention Center early Monday, according to jail records. She was charged with murder, first-degree child abuse or neglect and duty to stop at the scene of an accident, booking records show. The stories out today report that she was "stressed and tired". The sheriff wasn't comfortable saying that?
Should we be surprised she ended up this way? The daughter of an alcoholic "single mom" with an 8th grade education, her mom threw her out (voluntarily left?) when she was a freshman in high school. Enter the Portland Opportunities Industrialization Center which stepped in and saved her. She completed high school, received $17,000 in scholarships, and got a job with the U.S. Forest Service. Yay! A success story! Not quite. In addition to everything else she got, she also got pregnant. She lost her job, she dropped out of community college, and baby daddy fled to Texas (since baby mommy no longer had an income).
