In most instances it is a man, woman or it that does not even know that the God of the Old Testament is also the God of the New Testament, some even refute the Trinity, and other fundamental pillars of Christianity. Those that do not fully follow Christ, are not Christians, they are CINOs. The second is RINO: A RINO is a person, he, she or it, that while professing to be a Republican does not follow and/or agree with the planks of the Republican party, for as The Holy Bible is the handbook for Christians, the Republican Platform is the handbook for Republicans. Most RINOs have never read the read the Republican Platform or simply disagree with it yet run as a Republican to cover up their hatred for the Republic and/or Christ and His. Those who do not abide by and swear to support, with their proposed legislation and vote, the entire Republican platform are not Republicans, they are RINOs. To: BobCeleste (#0) Actually, you can argue that it is conservatives who are the RINOs. The GOP has been pro-big government since its days as the Whig party. Abraham Lincoln and his successors focused repeatedly on the Clay Whig political agenda (Henry Clay of Kentucky, major power broker and idol of Mitch McConnell, very much a Republican who loved big public works programs like the northern canals and big Wall Street banks). So in this view, Mitch McConnell is the real Republican and voters like you and I are the RINOs. For all their mouthing of conservative platitudes, a large majority of elected Republicans are the big-gov types, not actual conservatives. It would be more accurate to call the GOPe the CINOs (Conservatives In Name Only). And a lot of them consider the conservative base to be an annoyance to be strenuously ignored until it is time to court their votes again. Go check the record of how many items in the platform were ever put into legislation in the last two decades when Republicans have had plenty of chances to do so. Just because the platform says it doesn't mean that the GOPe is going to write legislation on it. For one thing, if they succeeded in significant abortion restrictions, a lot of Republicans wouldn't have much reason to vote for them again. Being "Republican" is a label you sign up to run for office under. And nothing more. The Republican can (and has) radically changed its platform many times over the decades. I still say that Mitch McConnell is first and foremost a Republican. And that you are first and foremost a Christian and a conservative, not a Republican. By that measure, you are the RINO.
