Title: White House Demands Congress Pass Gun Control For Christmas

The Obama administration is pressing for gun control, repeating a demand that Congress pass a ban on gun ownership for Americans on the no-fly list.

“If the U.S. Government has determined that it is too dangerous for you to board a plane then you shouldn’t be able to buy a gun,” White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said during a press conference in Paris today.

Earnest made the request just days after he called on Americans to talk about gun control during Thanksgiving dinner.

“Congress should pass this law before leaving for the Holidays,” Earnest said.

Earnest’s rhetoric continues the White House efforts pushed by anti-gun activists to do something on gun control.

After the shooting in Colorado over the weekend, President Obama demanded that Congress do something about guns.

“This is not normal. We can’t let it become normal,” he said. “If we truly care about this … then we have to do something about the easy accessibility of weapons of war on our streets to people who have no business wielding them. Period. Enough is enough.”

Is the "No-Fly-List" infallible? What happens when a citizen is placed on the "No-Fly-List" by mistake?

Do you know what supporting evidence is required to EVEN be placed on a "No-Fly-List" in the first place?

Enough is enough

It appears there is only one person in the country who thinks so. 30,000 gun related deaths a year is not enough, mass killings every week is not enough, no, the eighteenth century thinking is sacrosanct, a religious furvour surrounds it, a great pity similiar religious furour didn't surround the commandments of the Lord. is it that he said you shall not? where the constitution says shall not it is headed, but where God says shall not it is ignored. one shall not removes a right, the other creates it or so it is said.

In a country that claims to be righteous, having 70% christian population and 100% gun population something just doesn't jell, the paranoid have taken over, the rule of law is lost

Is this a bad thing? People know their neighbours, they know whether they are responsible or not. but should a particular class of people be banned? are you going to give guns to minors? Is there anything wrong with demanding anyone who owns a gun goes through a rigourous training program which might disclose some issues? is there anything wrong with demanding there be limitations on the number and type of weapons owned? on demanding there be limitations on the use to which weapons be put?

Of course. It is an administration consideration depriving citizens the rights to due process.

What is important, here, is that 0bama encourages this sort of facisim for America while he imports tens of thousands of Muslim "refugees" into America while they are not properly vetted by any deep background checks.

It is impressive to see how America is sheading individual rights, liberties and freedoms at an increasing rate.

And everybody that 'knew' the SB shooters said they were great people. True?

--- but should a particular class of people be banned? are you going to give guns to minors?

Damn near every boy I knew got a gun by 12/16 years old. Not a mass murderer among em.

Is there anything wrong with demanding anyone who owns a gun goes through a rigourous training program which might disclose some issues?

Yes. - But we decided some time ago that we did not want a draft, -- nationwide military training. I think we should have it for whimps like you.

- is there anything wrong with demanding there be limitations on the number and type of weapons owned? on demanding there be limitations on the use to which weapons be put?

Yes, it's against our constitutional principles to infringe on our basic inalienable rights. -- You should go elsewhere..

Years ago I did a small job for a 'upstanding' executive in a major corporation who lived in a multi-million dollar house. --- He got put on the no fly list, and it took him several years to be taken off.

When GWBush first established US government terrorism, he placed me on his list in 2003. I was finally removed four years later because of US government ineptitude. Through those four years I traveled the world over and domestically; the "no-fly-list" caused many flight changes for me. Typically, I had to appear about 2-3 hours BEFORE the flight to be cleared at the airline flight check-in area. Normally, the TSA would take their tyme doing what bureaucrats normally do: NOTHING. In all cases, my bags were checked 100%. I have no idea why I was placed on the NFL by the US government. I have no idea why I was removed from the NFL either. I doubt the US government knows anything other than to obstruct American citizens for the course of normal business while doing nothing to protect anyone.

Beyond that, this is a direct end-run around the state control of firearms ownership.

They are trying to place gun ownership under federal purview in one fell swoop.

This is a blatant attack on the Constitution and on gun rights as we have always understood them: a state matter, not a federal responsibility.

When TSA first started up, Teddy Kennedy got put on the no-fly list. Took them a week or so to clear him to fly again. Apparently he pulled quite a fit with the whole do-you-know-who-I-am routine these spoiled brat pols always resort to and they still wouldn't let him board.

For the record I did three years military training as a teen, from which I learned discipline, weapons usage, and citizenship. I think those qualities are lacking where you live. I find I don't need to own a weapon, that doesn't make me a wimp but I'll let wimps like you own the guns, since you are quaking in your boots and need to feel safe. Tell me is it against your constitutional principles to ensure public safety? I would have thought that a preeminent requirement

"establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare."

You see in those words it says nothing about a right of the individual to impinge on everyone else's rights. So for me the right to control guns falls under each of those provisions if the 2nd amendment is in conflict with it then that part of the 2nd amendment is void

It's all about federal power.

If they can take your guns via a NFL, it doesn't matter what your state/local gun laws are. All of those would be nullified in one fell swoop.

I'm not sure the Court would go along with it though.

So what about the other 98.7% of deaths, not all of those are old age/natural cause related... Over 2.5 million people died in the US in 2014...

So what are you gonna ban to stop those unnecessary deaths??? Eating, smoking cigarettes/dope, drinking, forks, driving vehicles, committing suicide, being born with some hereditary disease, climbing trees, skydiving or maybe even breathing???

Maybe you should figure out what the real issue is and it isn't firearms!!!

In Soundex, misterwhite is also macdermid, macdiarmid, mashiter, masters, masterson, mcdermitt, mcdermott, mcdorman, mcguthry, mcstravick, mcteer, mcturk, and meister. (Although the federal government might supplement their indexing and retrieval systems with manually populated surname and given name equivalents. Maybe some character string matching.)

Oh, and Soundex was developed for western names. As poor as it is for those, when applied to Asian and Middle Eastern names it is next to useless.
