A Hawaii Representative has warned the US government that President Barack Obamas decision to put American fighter jets that can target Russian planes on the border between Turkey and Syria could start a devastating nuclear war.
US Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-Hawaii)
Democratic Rep Tulsi Gabbards comments came after Defense Secretary Ashton Carter told Congress on Tuesday that the United States is sending additional special operations ground forces to Iraq in its ongoing fight against the Islamic State terrorists.
Gabbard said the fighter jets, along with Obamas opposition to Russian-backed Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad, could lead to a nuclear war.
Russias installation of their anti-aircraft missile-defense system increases that possibility of - whether its intentional or even an accidental event - where one side may shoot down the other sides plane, she told Carter, according to the National Review.

And thats really where the potential is for this devastating nuclear war, she added.
Carter claimed that Russia is not a military danger to the United States, but that the countries disagreements come down to diplomacy problems.
We have a different view, a very different view from Russia about what would be constructive for them to do in Syria, he said. Thats not the same as the United States and Russia clashing.
Carter told the House Armed Services Committee on Tuesday that the new forces will enhance existing troops already in Iraq and will be able to carry out high-level missions.
'In full coordination with the government of Iraq, we're deploying a specialized expeditionary targeting force to assist Iraqi and Kurdish Peshmerga forces and to put even more pressure on ISIL,' Carter said.
'These special operators will over time be able to conduct raids, free hostages, gather intelligence, and capture ISIL leaders. That creates a virtuous cycle of better intelligence, which generates more targets, more raids, and more momentum.'
Rep. Gabbard schools CNN's Wolf Blitzer. Blister pretends not to notice.

That ain't going to make her popular with the DNC.
I'm betting she is going to find herself facing a well-financed opponent during the next Dim primary.

American Indians had open borders. Look at how well that worked out for them.
BTW,my eyesight sucks these days. Is that a CMB she is wearing?

I looked up CMB budges, and yes indeed, this is what she is wearing
I'm waiting for eye surgery, and couldn't see it clearly enough to be sure.
CMB's have always impressed me,but I am wondering how she could have actually earned it and not received any combat action valor awards. Are they giving them out now just because you happen to be a medic serving in a combat zone?

You know those things better than me. I just rely on Internet searches, plus some analytical approach.
I am hoping to be able to get by with Lasik eye surgery, the standard kind for cataracts, but the eye doctor that refused to write me a prescription for bew glasses was vague about how involved it would be,and after I got home and did some research I learned there are different laser surgeries for different vision problems, and sometimes they insurance companies won't even do it if you are a diabetic, have high blood pressure, etc, etc, etc.
I am a diabetic and I have high blood pressure,so I am waiting now for a consult with the VA system to see if they will pay for it. I am a 100 percent service-connected disabled vet,but that doesn't mean they will pay for it. If they won't,I'm stuck with Medicare, and they might or might not pay for 80 percent of it. They have their reasons, but those reasons are unclear to me. Some websites and people say Medicare will pay for catatract surgery, and others say they won't if you are a diabetic,

I am really sorry to learn about that.
I don't even know if it's true. I'm just going by what some people have told me,and a little of what I have read on the net. I will find out in the next week or two, though.
I suspect it might be a medical problem. Is eye surgery risky in such condition?
I am GUESSING it is more related to diabetes destroying the optic nerves,so spending money on laser surgery is wasting money. Once again,I am GUESSING that it is primarily insulin-dependent Type 1 diabetics that Medicare won't cover. I am a Type 2,so once again I am GUESSING I may be one of the diabetes they will cover.
As I said above,I will know in a week or two.

I do not like insurance companies, but they are not irrational. On your place I would get a second opinion and an advice from a smart doctor, just for your own information.
