Title: THE QUOTE OF THE DAY (Obama is a dumbass)

Today's quote comes to us from President Barack Obama. And I strongly urge you not to be eating or drinking anything within spewing range of your monitor when you read it,

During his press conference in Paris, in answer to a reporter's question about the Planned Parenthood massacre, Mr. Obama said this:

"With respect to Planned Parenthood, obviously, my heart goes out to the families of those impacted. I mean, I say this every time we've got one of these mass shootings; this just doesn't happen in other countries."

He said this in Paris.

In PARIS??????

Here is a bit of news for you, Mr. President. The Planned Parenthood massacre, horrific though it was, resulted in the loss of three lives. Less than three weeks ago, in the city where you made this statement, there was a terrorist attack which resulted in the loss of 130 lives.

Honest. It was in all the papers.

And in January of this year, that same city suffered a terrorist attack on magazine Charlie Hebdo's offices and a kosher supermarket that resulted in the loss of 16 lives.

This, of course, is before we talk about the countless terrorist attacks in Muslim countries, where suicide bombers regularly kill dozens of people.

It would be hard to overstate the idiocy of Barack Obama's comment. But easy to understand it in the context of a President who seemingly never misses an opportunity to dump on his own country - with no problem at all in doing it on foreign soil.

I award President Obama Quote Of The Day "honors" for reminding me, as he regularly does, of why I count the seconds until January 20th, 2017, at noon.

April 2, 2015,142 students murdered at the University College Campus of Garissa, in northeastern Kenya. In the land of his ancestors ,mass killings are common. http://english.cntv.cn/2015/11/25/ARTI1448433530858102.shtml In other countries:

“Two massacres that killed 15 people in less than 12 hours rocked Honduras and left the country’s top cop in tears on Wednesday.” http://www.cbsnews.com/news/multiple-massacres-leave-civilians-dead-in-honduras/

Overall even the Washington Compost and other fact checking web sites find the emperor's claim as false . http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/2015/jun/22/barack- obama/barack-obama-correct-mass-killings-dont-happen-oth/ http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/2015/jun/22/barack- obama/barack-obama-correct-mass-killings-dont-happen-oth/

mass killings are common any place muslim jihadists operate, Obama was obviously trying to point out that mass killings of the type perpetrated in the United States are a local problem arising for other reasons, and fueled by easy gun procurement.

What isn't addressed here because it is a no go zone is the national obscession with firearms and perhaps this is what Obama was actually saying. Other nations don't have this obscession and therefore don't have these incidents. When politicians make statements they can not necessarily be backed by facts. The incidence of gun violence is an emotive issue

Oh I get it ,he believes that in 'civilized '1st world nations mass killings don't happen except in the US where we are obsessed with our gun ownership. Well then no gnu is right . He is a dumbass. I thought the emperor had an international perspective instead of a Eurocentric one. Anyway others have pointed out the irony of the emperor making these comments in Paris ;a city with repressive gun control laws and yet had 2 of the most horrific killing sprees this year (as do many American cities where mass homicides go largely unreported on a weekly basis ....as and example ,there were many weeks where the death toll in Chicago was more than the deaths reported from both the Afghanistan and Iraq war .Yet if you went by their laws ,Chicago should be the safest city on earth. ) I would tell him that professors Jaclyn Schildkraut (State University of New York Oswego) and H. Jaymi Elsass (Texas State University)are co-authors of a new book “Mass Shootings: Media, Myths, and Realities,” to be published in 2016 . He should read it .In it they conclude that yes ,the US has more incidents ;but in terms of per capita fatalities, the United States was fourth, after Norway, Finland and Switzerland. If you look at the chart on this site ,it clearly demonstrates that the countries that are the top 5 in per capita gun murders are countries with restrictive gun laws.

http://www.ijreview.com/2015/06/348197-obama-said-mass-shootings-dont-happen-in- advanced-countries-like-in-us-one-chart-proves-him-wrong/

Today the emperor made similar comments while a shooting incident was ongoing and he did not have anything close to enough details to make his conclusion. All he is doing is demagoguing the issue .

Okay so here is a thought, your problems are associated with access to guns by minorities. So first you need laws that restrict guns to citizens only, then you need laws that restrict minorities from gun ownership. bit of a problem there, you can't solve the problem because eighteenth century thinking doesn't allow you to. Of course those eighteen century people had no concept of minorities or gun ownership by anyone but responsible "white" people

Are you REALLY THAT freaking ignorant of history?

Blacks,Asians,Jews, and everyone else had the same rights to vote and arm themselves as every other citizen in early America. There were wealthy blacks voting in the 17th century, not to mention owning property and slaves.

The VERY FIRST slave owner in Colonial America was a black man that enslaved his black indentured servant. He died as a wealthy man that raised race horses on his own farm in Maryland, despite coming here as an indentured servant himself.

How then did these people loose their rights? Every other citizen did not have the right to vote in early america. There is a myth perpetuated in north america that it is the home of democracy however it took a long time before women and blacks and many others were allowed to cast a ballot

How did what people lose their rights, and what rights are you talking about?

Every other citizen did not have the right to vote in early america.

Duhhhh! Here is a quick quiz for you,who had the right to vote in early America, and who didn't?

There is a myth perpetuated in north america that it is the home of democracy however it took a long time before women and blacks and many others were allowed to cast a ballot

We both know you are full of shit, but let's see how full. When did blacks and women "win" the right to vote?

Bullshit. Gun laws were mostly passed by Dims to keep blacks and poor whites from having guns. Most places (no places?) ever came out and stated that, but what they did was ban the carrying/possession in public of firearms without a special permit issued by a judge or sheriff. Which usually resulted in the judge or sheriff setting arbitrary standards such as being a land owner, passing a written test when most blacks and a lot of poor rural whites couldn't read ,or charging a fee upfront too high for a typical person to be able to afford to pay it.

Of course none of this applied to the friends of the judges or sheriff,or the professional criminal class we call "politicians".

True,it was not strictly racial discrimination because they didn't want poor whites carrying guns either, but it was class discrimination with the ruling class having rights that weren't available to the working class for all practical purposes. Wealthy blacks and those with political connections, like preachers, had no trouble getting permits in most areas.

And don't kid yourself. The calls for gun control today have the same goals. The ruling class want to be the only ones with access to firearms.

The ruling class want to be the only ones with access to firearms.

You see I see that as an irrational argument. You assume something then use your assumption as evidence in support of your argument. Be thankful you are not capable of being convicted on opinion.

If there is a ruling class, then they don't want criminals to be in possession of firearms because, afterall, they are the logical targets of the criminal class. You see I have just assumed there is a criminal class and we need to be protected from it

The days when large numbers of people could feed themselves though hunting are gone. The frontier exists only in a few places but the thinking that says I need a gun hasn't changed.

Okay, let's turn this around, to possess a gun a person should be able to show that they can safely store the weapon so they should at least be the owner of a gun safe. Now I see you will raise similiar arguments that you did before, cost, perhaps education in being able to read the requirements. Under what circumstances can you admit that a registration process is fair and reasonable?

Gun laws are passed by responsible government seeking to deal with the excesses of individuals. All laws have the inevietable outcome of restricting the freedom of some to take unilateral action. the law is not in itself a judgement of you unless you intend to contravene it but it is the exercise of a majority opinion by elected representatives

ROFLMAO!

That has a lot in common with "assuming the sun will rise in the east tomorrow",or that it will get dark after sunset.

Okay, let's turn this around, to possess a gun a person should be able to show that they can safely store the weapon so they should at least be the owner of a gun safe.

You can safely say that to who?

Now I see you will raise similiar arguments that you did before, cost, perhaps education in being able to read the requirements.

Wrong. I raise no arguments. I just flat out state that I will not deny owning any firearm I own,I will not turn any of them in,and I will kill anybody and everybody that tries to take them from me.

I am a free man,not a slave.

Under what circumstances can you admit that a registration process is fair and reasonable?

I think idiots should be registered, and recommend you go looking for a registration office.
