What if Germany and Japan had won WW2? The Man in the High Castle is an American dystopian alternate history television series produced by Amazon Studios, Scott Free, Headline Pictures and Electric Shepherd Productions. The series is based on the 1962 novel of the same name by American science fiction author Philip K. Dick. The story is an alternate history of the world in which the Axis powers won World War II. The United States has been partitioned into three parts: The Japanese puppet state of the Pacific States of America, which comprises the former United States west of the Rocky Mountains; a Nazi puppet state that comprises the eastern half of the former United States; and a neutral zone that acts as a buffer between the two areas, called the Rocky Mountain States. The pilot debuted on January 15, 2015 and was Amazon's "most-watched since the original series development program began." On February 18, 2015, the series was picked up for a ten-episode season. Ten episodes were released November 20, 2015 The Man in the High Castle's pilot has received critical acclaim. On Rotten Tomatoes, it holds an approval rating of 97% with an average rating of 7.8 based on 37 reviews, with the critical consensus "By executive producer Ridley Scott, The Man in the High Castle is unlike anything else on TV, with an immediately engrossing plot driven by quickly developed characters in a fully realized post-WWII dystopia." Meredith Woerner from io9.com says of The Man in the High Castle "I can honestly say I loved this pilot. It's an impressive, streamlined undertaking of a fairly complicated and very beloved novel." Matt Fowler from IGN gave 9.2 out of 10 and described the series as a "a superb, frightening experience filled with unexpected twists and (some sci-fi) turns." I begin to think that more Nazis are marching across the screens of America than ever invaded Europe or Russia or Africa. This endless appetite for Nazi-themed entertainment is tiresome. And kinda boring. I got tired of the whole Nazi-theme movie genre years ago. They're as awful as the time-travel movies.

Once yet again, you completely miss the point. This is a movie based on a landmark Hugo award winning Sci-Fi book that is light years beyond your comprehension. In fact, no doubt just one thought from Philip K. Dick's brain would fry your entire nervous system. You DO know who he is, right? Or Ridley Scott? Maybe you've seen his work before. Your habit of carrying on about everything under the sun - whether you even begin to grasp a concept or not - is adorable.
I'll take your word for it. I read several of Dick's books and most of his short stories, decades back when it was fresher material. Meh. His cult following fawning over him is so much more annoying than even Frank Herbert's are. Ridley Scott did the film version of Blade Runner, never reading the book. It was the top and most durable of the movies made from Dick's work in large part because it starred Harrison Ford in his prime, with Minority Report by Spielberg a close second. Both directors mostly ignored or significantly altered Dick's works in making their movies. Some other big name actors and directors have made Dick movies, generally to very poor ticket sales and low interest in DVD/cable replays. In general, great sci-fi books do not make good movies. I've never seen a sci-fi movie that came close to the book version. Quite often, the movie ruins the public's interest in the book.
