To: Don (#1) The only way you can apply for this is through a mason sponsoring you. They have to seek you out; not the other way around. You will find them everywhere and even in your churches. They look for specific people to join. They do not like people applying alone without sponsorship as it is not only through sponsorship that you actually may apply but that there are between five to seven members who place their vote on whether they like you or not. This is all done in private behind closed doors. I was also invited to become a mason and even applied. I had five masons that wanted to sponsor me. But then I started to get the same feeling of making a big mistake of my life and I requested my application be withdrawn so that I would not be called up to attend their ritual and oath-taking. It is a requirement that you take their obligation oath. I didn't like what I was feeling about it. Perhaps, the Holy Spirit compelled me to have this change of heart and withdraw my application.
