DEVELOPING - At least 35 people were killed and more than 100 hostages were being held in Paris Friday night, after at least three coordinated terror attacks rocked the French capital and prompted President Francois Hollande to order the entire nation's borders closed.

The attacks are believed to have involved at least two suicide bombers, including one which detonated near the city's Stade de France, soccer stadium where the French and German national teams were playing in a match attended by Hollande. Simultaneous attacks are a trademark of terrorist operations.

No he isn't, but he was claiming about how far France had progressed ahead of our silly country (which I had to laugh at) and I told him this would happen because he was wrong...

But what does foreigner Muslims' actions have to do with France, the people?

Anyway... 100+ people dead now.. I believe it to be the worst violence in Paris since WWII.

My heart is falling with France as hers fall, and its falling for her.

I'm in shock today. and now I'm arguing with people on another forum who are cheering this on because they believe all French people account for colonial crimes against indigenous peoples...

I haven't felt such pain for a country.. in forever.

Think the French will be ready to take in more "refugees"?

Of course they will and so will Germany and others. The socialists are self destructive. They will say this is a small minority and does not represent Islam.

France has "reverse" ghettos. The no-go areas are Muslim enclaves where they police themselves. See the results?

I call them reverse ghettos because the old European ghettos were set up to keep in ethnic groups. These Muslim ghettos are set up to keep out law enforcement.

I would not bet on French acceptance. Recently, Marine Le Pen and the National Front party have been leading in the French polls. The -e candidates weren't doing all that well in France before these attacks. This should give Le Pen's party a significant bounce.

Note that the muslims in France are not a mass of illegal aliens. Most are French citizens or legal residents. However, many of those have not been assimilated into French society.

French Political Elites Panic As Marine Le Pen Gains Ground

by Simon Kent
Breitbart
12 Nov 2015

A report in Liberation suggests all options are on the table for Mr. Valls as the traditional French political landscape fractures. The newspaper reports the prime minister is already hearing privately from his advisers that a new “republican front” – or merger of the left and centre is necessary to block Ms. Le Pen’s insurgent anti-Europe, anti mass immigration push.

An insider close to the prime minister is quoted: “You have to consider all hypotheses… We must do everything to prevent the National Front.”

Europe’s migrant invasion, coupled with strengthening support for Marine Le Pen’s National Front (NF) is causing panic in French political circles. The situation is perceived as so dire that Prime Minister Manuel Valls is considering alliances between the centre right, and even far left factions to attempt to see off the threat from Ms. Le Pen’s party.

As Breitbart London has reported, Ms. Le Pen has been warning of the consequences of open-ended migration from the Middle East and what it will mean not just for the future of France but all of Europe. Her opponents try and define her message as “racist” and “xenophobic” when she says “The absolute rejection of Islamic fundamentalism must be proclaimed loudly and clearly” but voters are listening.

“Without any action, this migratory influx will be like the barbarian invasion of the 4th century, and the consequences will be the same,” Le Pen told a recent rally. “We must immediately stop this madness to safeguard our social pact, freedom and identity.

“Sarkozy opened the door, and Hollande and [Prime Minister Manuel] Valls have taken them off the hinges,” continued the 47-year old politician. “The leaders offer to host migrants, without even asking their inhabitants, the same leaders who destroyed Libya, and continue to destabilise Syria.”

The FN leader’s message is simple, to the point and being heard. She is anti-EU, anti-Schengen open borders and anti-meddling bureaucrats in Brussels and Strasbourg. All of that scares the traditional political alliances which have been content to divide the spoils of French power between for more than a century.

France is home to Europe’s largest Muslim community, making up about 7.7 per cent of the population, and their numbers have been growing with children and grandchildren of those who arrived from the country’s former colonies in North Africa during the 20th century.

Ms. Le Pen can sense the feeling of distress across the nation as voters feel they have been abandoned to their fate by legacy parties allowing that influx – without consultation. They feel no affinity for the ‘multi-cultural’ France they believe is being foisted on them.

France faces its next national elections in 2017 but before then there will be next month’s regional elections. Ms. Le Pen is set to win control of France’s northernmost area, a recent opinion poll showed, with her niece possibly coming first too in the south-eastern Provence-Alpes-Cote d’Azur region.

The same poll showed the ruling Socialists who currently dominate the regional assemblies winning just three regions or being wiped out altogether.

On that basis alone, it’s little wonder Ms. Len Pen is causing such panic in the comfortable salons of France’s political elites.

What will the French do with the Muzzies already there? What will the Washington politicians do with the Muzzies already here? Give them a fast track for citizenship and more benefits from American taxes while disregarding the wishes of Americans.

What will the French do with the Muzzies already there?

Many of the French ARE Muslims, so "the French" making the decisions will include a lot of Muslims.

Truth is: France is not going to destroy its culture and its belief in personal liberty, including religious liberty, because of a bloody event. The Germans killed a lot more people than the Muslims just did, and yet German speaking people were not all cast out of France after the war, and France did not refuse to deal with Germans.

What the French will do is expand surveillance, expand the size of their national security apparatus, use a lot more infiltration, etc, and engage in a lot of spooky ops we'll never hear about, to prevent this from happening again any time soon.

It's like 9/11: America did not expel all the Muslims, put them in concentration camps, shoot them on sight, or end religious freedom. We heavily increased surveillance, greatly increased the security apparatus, and undertook a lot of spooky ops, and we've prevented a repeat for 14 years.

Doesn't mean we'll prevent it forever.

The French don't have the federal compartmentalization issues to deal with that we did. It isn't against the French national character to have a very strong government spy on everybody and everything, an pre-emptively intervene on suspicion.

Also, there is no writ of habeas corpus in France, and no pre-trial release for serious crimes. If you're arrested in France for a alleged crime, there's no bail. You sit in jail until trial.

The French have always used "provisional detention" to hold people under suspicion as long as they feel like it.

They won't apply this tool heavy handedly. They're not going to lock up 10% of the country. They're not going to start mass deportations of Muslims.

French intelligence does not need to get judicial permission to spy on anybody, in any way they choose, and if there is sufficient evidence, the French can arrest and hold, without trial, indefinitely. The French courts do not have the power to order the French government to do anything, because the government itself is immune to judicial decisions and there is no such thing as "judicial review" of the sort we're familiar with. They have something, but it's very different, and it isn't going to help somebody who is accused, rightly or wrongly. The accused will sit in jail until the authorities either try him or let him out. And the authorities will spy on everybody, in whatever way they see fit, and there is no judicial power, at all, anywhere, to stop that, because it is a right of the state - there is no law or constitutional principle that presumes to prevent the state from doing whatever it needs to do, without any limitation, in order to protect itself.

In the USA, the Constitution stands above the government. In France (as in England), the Parliament has the power to amend the Constitution, and no court has the power to enforce the terms of the constitution on the government.

Also, in a real crisis (as determined by himself), the President can invoke Article 16 and take plenary, unlimited power, for the duration of the national crisis.

Bluntly, the French President has the power, without judicial review, to order the assassinations of enemies of the state. There is no check on this power.

In France, there will not be a series of slow investigations and trials. There will be a couple of public show trials. But all over France and all over the world, people you have never heard of are going to start dying. You'll never hear about it either.

When the French President said that France is at war and will retailiate "ruthlessly", what he meant is that the French authorities are going to murder people all over the world now. And it means that captive terrorists will not be sent to Guantanmo. They will be tortured, and tortured and tortured, for information, and killed, and never released. They will wink out of existence and nobody will know what happened to them. And if anybody DOES know, he will have the choice of being quiet about it, or being assassinated for revealing state secrets.

The American government is limited by checks and balances. There are no checks and balances in the French government. In a crisis, the President of France is a King, and he can and will order people killed without trial, and impose state secrets silence on all of it.

And the world will never know about it, because the journaist who tries to report on it will be Breitbarted...and it will be LEGAL.

So, the measure of the French success in the matter will be whether or not there are any more such attacks in the years to come. In the next day or two cells already in place may carry out their attacks, but after that, the measure will be the presence or lack of attacks.

Socialists always get accused of being Communists. They're usually not. But think hard for a moment about how, exactly, Communists deal with internal dissent. If we assume that the French government is communistic at root (and it isn't a bad assumption), then think about what Communists do to rebels.

France isn't going to cave and blow away. They're going to have a purge. All of the tough things that would warm the cockles of the darkest militarist right wing heart are going to be happening. The measure of their success will be the lack of attacks in the next French decade.

I do not say this boastfully. I say it matter of factly. That is how France will deal with it. You'll hear nothing but platitudes. Nothing will seem to change. You will never hear the screams. But you will see how the "milquetoasts" somehow manage to keep an open society without bombs going off all the time.

I would not want the US to respond to terrorism the way the French are going to, because the US government would use the opportunity to "disappear" domestic opponents too. The French won't - the ruling class is too incestuous, and it's not about settling scores, but rooting out enemies and killing them.

I don't care how the French do it, just so it's done. The West needs to fight back by attacking all enemies. This is a war.
