That was a pretty good cover of one of the most perfect songs ever written, but IMHO here is the best one I ever heard.
Why is democracy held in such high esteem when it’s the enemy of the minority and makes all rights relative to the dictates of the majority? (Ron Paul,2012)
Why would you go with a cover band version instead of Leonard Cohen's original? The original must be from the Seventies or Eighties, judging by the clothes and hair styles.
Cohen became better known after this song and a few others were used in the movie Natural Born Killers.
I always liked this one best.
The birds, they sang At the break of day Start again, I heard them say Don't dwell on what has passed away Or what is yet to be.
Yeah, the wars They will be fought again The holy dove She will be caught again Bought and sold and bought again The dove is never free.

Ring the bells that still can ring ...

Ring the bells that still can ring...

This one was used in NBK too, not bad. Cohen's songs were perfect for that flick.
Cohen has had quite a singing career for someone who doesn't have a singing voice. He can't dance and he isn't handsome either. But he knows how to write distinctive songs that he can perform. : )
Why would you go with a cover band version instead of Leonard Cohen's original?
Because the original sucked all the air right off the planet.
