A libertarian called Bionic Mosquito has finally figured out that open borders aren’t such a bright idea. [Open Borders: Case Study, November 5, 2015]

Hilariously, LewRockwell.com’s front page teaser for the reprint runs like this:

Open Borders

Essential to libertarianism, or incompatible with it?

To which the reply is, “both, which is why libertarianism, like all liberalism, is suicidal.”

Open borders are essential to libertarianism because borders impede the human “right” to do whatever one wants — in this case, jump the border of another country and violates its laws — but then again are incompatible with libertarianism because the people jumping the border are not libertarians but big government liberals. And many of them are violent criminals, which kind of blows up libertarianism’s famously ludicrous NAP — non-aggression principle.

Libertarian ideas about limited government are anathema to the “migrants” who are flooding Europe. They’re headed there for the welfare. Mexicans crossing our border don’t think much of them either. That’s why they vote for Democratic Party statists.

Thus does Mr. Mosquito explain why open borders fail. In Europe, they have come to their logical end: complete chaos, and the likely wrecking of the nations to which the migrants migrate.

Libertarian's biggest flaw is open border.

Laws in the use only apply in the US.

There are two classes of people in a state. Citizen and alien. Progressives want to give aliens full citizens rights/benefits which causes a huge burden on the citizens. Libertarians don't care because they live in a dream world. Not saying that aliens should be treated like slaves but 2nd class as they are in other nations. Look at mexihole. They demand full rights for their citizens in the US but a US citizen in Mexihole is treated a 2nd class citizen. Can not own property nor do the your rights equal those of Mexicans.

Partially true. It is possible to be a "internal libertarian" when it comes to our legal system and government, and still be very conservative when it comes to outside influences and foreigners and the countries they came from.

*I* consider myself to be an "America First Libertarian",just like the Founding Fathers.

Thats kinda where I stand too. I guess I would be conservative who leans libertarian.

The closer to centralized government the less I want them to have control over everyday life. Border control, foreign influences/abuse and disputes between states leave to the federal government. States and local can handled the other stuff. If you don't like your local or state government you can always move but you can't really move out of the US.

Centralized government in any country is the death of individual freedoms and rights, and the represents the rise to power of the tyrants and dictators.

That's why this country was formed as a system with the power being at the local level, and the higher in government you are,the less influence you are supposed to have. Congressmen and other elected officials are supposed to follow the direction they get from the locals in their district that voted them into office.

Yep. If you have an issue with federal government its damn near impossible to resolve it at the federal level unless you have endless amounts of cash. At local level you can knock on the door of those in charge to get answer.
