Title: Geraldo: Republicans are just pretending they’ll vote for Carson because HE’S BLACK!

Geraldo Rivera made unabashedly racist remarks about Republican presidential candidate Dr. Ben Carson — while accusing Republicans of racism.

The gist of it: they’re only saying they’ll vote for Carson because he’s black.

On Fox News’ “The Five” on Thursday, Rivera commented on a Monmouth County College poll showing Carson would defeat Donald Trump in a head-to-head match-up. The show’s resident liberal said he was reminded of the 1993 New York City mayoral election, in which African-American incumbent Mayor David Dinkins polled high and looked like he was going to win, only to be defeated by Rudy Giuliani.

“I think a lot of Republicans polled by Monmouth are giving the politically correct answer,” Rivera said. “I think it’s all about being the black neurosurgeon, brilliant guy.”

When co-host Greg Gutfeld asked whether people voted for Obama because he was black, Rivera again gave a racist response, saying, “Obama was the least black guy you could possibly find.”

If Carson were failing in the polls it would be because Republicans are racist, but if he’s winning it’s because Republicans are racist.

Got that?

Poster Comment:

Affirmative action, bait and switch. George W. Bush "compassionate conservatives". Fake bleeding hearts.

Whorealdo wants us to vote for Marco Rubio, no doubt.

NAW ... he was a good dawg during his life ... he is simply dead. Kinda like the US government: dead.

Maybe he's right.

If some retired white neurosurgeon decided he wanted to become prez because he didn't have a decent retirement hobby, would he get as much attention as Carson has gotten?

I do kinda doubt it. Carson is popular because he was such a pioneering pediatric neurosurgeon, world renowned. But, just as with Obama, it does make people feel good about themselves to think, "Sure, I'll vote for that black guy because that's just how broad-minded I really am".

How else do you explain people voting for anyone as inexperienced and loopy as Obama (and, most likely, Carson)?

Neither Obama or Carson really had the kind of political or career experience to suit them to conduct foreign policy, execute the laws faithfully, lead a large complex government, etc.

I seriously doubt that. Obomber burned the "black card" to the ground.

People accept the word "brilliant" as an adjective for Carson, but nobody but black racists ever associate the word with Obomber. The words "Affirmative Action" maybe, but not the word "brilliant".

Look at Merkel and the German elites, how they felt so good about themselves for (suicidally) pledging to take in all those "Syrian refugees" which just turn out to be young men who want to sign up for German (and Swedish) welfare and party and travel at the expense of the EU citizens that they despise. Merkel kept making remarks about how Germany is finally righting historical wrongs, how the world will finally love Germany, etc.

Completely delusional but they won't turn back from it, even after it has become well-understood exactly what is happening.

We see the same thing with Trump supporters. People do hoodwink themselves, even in the face of considerable evidence that they are being deceived. Why? Because they want to feel good about themselves.

Vanity and pride remain among the strongest motives in human behavior.

That's what happens when you have a couple of generations grow up being taught to feel guilty for the actions of their ancestors.

People think nothing of calling Germans Nazi's. That's just peachy-keen for most.

Watch their reaction if you start calling Africans cannibals, though.

"Sure, I'll vote for that black guy because that's just how broad-minded I really am".

Possible, but I think the American people got that out of their system with Obama. Been there, done that, got the unemployment check.

(But I do think that's where Fiorina is getting her support -- "I'll vote for that woman because that's just how open-minded I really am".)

They like Carson because he's nice. Soft spoken, erudite, good speaker, non-combative. People get all warm and fuzzy.

Nice guy, but he'd make a lousy President. A Republican Jimmy Carter.

The dingbat on Hardball made the comment that Ben Carson was (probably) able to take advantage of Affirmative Action to get where he got, unlike the blacks in prison in Baltimore. As though they weren't eligible for Affirmative Action.

Iowa is notable for this. They love the cuddly candidates. Like Huckster in 2008.

Watch their reaction if you start calling Africans cannibals, though.

Africa isn't especially known for cannibalism. You have a lot more of it among isolated South American tribes and isolated Polynesian islanders like those in Papua, New Guinea. As bank heir Michael Rockefeller found out first hand. But that was 50 years ago. Even there, with a history of cannibal tribes, the practice has been greatly reduced in the modern era.

Sometimes civilization does win against traditional cultural practices connected with religion. Like the abolition of suttee in India during the British colonial era. Similarly, senicide of the elderly in some areas of India has not been eradicated yet. The Inuit are defamed as routinely killing the elderly but in truth they rarely did it unless they were facing hard famine.

I also like him because he is very intelligent, and a hard worker who would be likely to spend more time concentrating on the job of president than golfing with billionaire globalists.

There is an AA slot for "one of the top brain surgeons in the country"? Since when? Brain surgeons have to actually successfully complete the difficult and very real tasks they take on,not just talk about things.

Yes,there is a HUGE number of AA lawyers and politicians in this country, but that's only because they are required to do nothing but talk, and lie while doing it. They don't really "do" anything.

The way I have always heard it was that during hard times they would leave the elderly and infirm behind that had trouble keeping up in order to have food to feed the children and the healthy younger people that could work to provide for the tribe/clan.

You have to remember, these are wandering peoples who live from hunting. It's not like they can remain in one place to farm and store grain and raise animals.

Letting them die isn't killing them.

"Iowa is notable for this. They love the cuddly candidates."

Polling and voting are different. As Jonah Goldberg says, "But polling absent consequences is a form of protest. With accountability, minds may change.

Geraldo knows this. After Iowa votes and Carson ends up in single digits, Geraldo can say, "See? I told you! Republicans only pretended to like Carson."

A lot of pundits think Carson will win Iowa. At present, I think he has an edge to make a last-minute breakout.

In Iowa results, what counts is who peaks and surges in the last week. Everything before that is just foreplay and skirmishing and gladhanding the natives while appearing in lots of hog and corn venues with green tractors and combines.

"In Iowa results, what counts is who peaks and surges in the last week."

Waaaay too much emphasis on Iowa as some great predictor state. Especially given the fact that it's a caucus state.

True enough. But, goofy as it is, Iowa always changes how the candidates shake out. Major candidates always get crushed or surged as a result of idiots in Iowa. It changes the entire race unless you have an incumbent prez.
