If you buy cocaine in middle school, your life is not on the right track. Ditto, if you buy crack. And ditto, alas, if you buy Kool-Aid powder mixed with sugar, at least at the Akros Middle School in Akron, Ohio. As WPTV newsnet5 explains, 14-year-old Iverson Sibley was suspended for five days for making a “drug-type transaction”: After Sibley was called into the head office, it became clear what she had in a Ziploc bag wasn’t crack or cocaine, as officials initially thought, but a mixture of Kool-Aid powder and sugar. She was slapped with a five-day suspension anyway. Her mother, Erika Yarborough, feels the punishment didn’t fit the crime. Maybe because there was no crime? The mom proceeded to take her daughter out of Akros, a charter school, and re-enroll her in the local public school. Meanwhile, the school released this nonsensical note to the TV station: Akros Middle School opened in 2010 to provide school choice to the parents in the Akron and surrounding areas. Many of our students have moved on to local private high schools and college preparatory schools to further their education. It is unfortunate that discipline issues interfere with the educational process; however, many of our parents are appreciative that our school is known for its safe learning environment. We will continue to hold our students with high expectations to prepare them for a successful future. High expectations? Or expectations that they are trying to get high, even when purchasing sugar?

If the student was trying to sell someone (fake) narcotics, they can be excluded from the school for that. Or be reassigned to a disciplinary setting instead. It seems she wasn't just carrying around her Koolaide stash.
He should have tried to sell a fake bomb masquerading as a clock and changed his name to Abdul. he would have been hailed as a national hero and invited to wine and dine at the White House.
Obama has played at being a president while enjoying the perks … golf, insanely expensive vacations at tax-payer expense. He has ignored the responsibilities of the job; no plans, no budgets, no alternatives … just finger pointing; making him a complete failure as a president
That's one way to describe it. Another would be that her daughter was expelled from the charter school, forcing her mother to enroll her in the local public school. Which is where she and the other disruptive students belong. Charter schools are a way out of poverty. Too bad her mother didn't care. And where's the father in all this?
Young teens call this "Happy Crack" and it gives then a sugar high. It's a concoction of red unsweetened Kool Aid and Pixie Stix (or plain sugar). Maybe someone can make the argument that young teens should be able to buy and sell this "Happy Crack" at school, but it won't be me.
I can see how a school would not want kids acting as unofficial food vendors. Maybe that's the issue here. However, you would never know that by the ridiculously cryptic statement the school released.
