WASHINGTON, D.C., September 24, 2015 (LifeSiteNews) - The Republican-controlled Senate voted this afternoon against a Continuing Resolution that would have defunded Planned Parenthood for one year. Eight Republicans and one presidential hopeful - Sen. Rand Paul - voted against the measure. The Continuing Resolution would have funded the federal government through December 11 but redirected $235 million of taxpayer dollars away from the abortion provider to federally qualified health centers, instead. The moratorium, suggested by Rep. Diane Black, would give Congress time to investigate allegations that Planned Parenthood illegally harvests and sells the organs of aborted babies. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said, in light of Pope Francis' unifying speech in the Capitol this morning, everyone could agree that undercover video footage of Planned Parenthood was scandalous. "Let us also agree that a scandal-plagued organization should be place on leave without pay, and to use the money to fund women's health," he said. "I'm calling on my colleagues across the aisle to join us in standing up against a shutdown." But it was members of his own party who killed the measure. Unlike other pro-life bills that have been defeated by a Democratic filibuster, the Continuing Appropriations Resolution of 2016 did not receive a majority of votes in the Republican-controlled Senate, failing by a final vote of 47-52. Kelly Ayotte of New Hampshire, Tom Cotton of Arkansas, Susan Collins of Maine, Dean Heller of Nevada, Mark Kirk of Illinois, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, Rand Paul of Kentucky, and Ben Sasse of Nebraska voted against the bill. Pro-life Democrat Joe Manchin of West Virginia voted yes while others who describe themselves as pro-life - Bob Casey of Pennsylvania and Joe Donnelly of Indiana - voted no. Let me see if I understand this correctly,ok? Planned Parenthood has a Constitutional RIGHT to kill living newborn babies so they can harvest their organs to sell for profit?????? Doesn't this mean that WE could harvest THEIR organs to sell to needy people? OF COURSE the Republicans killed the bill. Democrats were always going to do whatever was necessary. But Republicans, the party that gave us Roe and Casey and on and on, is allegedly pro-life (in order to get suckers to vote for them). But when the chips are down and the votes are counted, they reliably fail.

I'll pass. Rand Paul bores me. I don't care what he has to say, and he'll never be a person of significance. Taking my time to write this to you is more valuable than reading anything he has to say. I'm not interested in reasoning. I am interested in works.
The Senators voted against 1) Amnesty Executive Order funding, 2) Busting the Budget Caps (+$400 billion, $10 billion over caps) 3) Funding ObamaCare. They did NOT fund Planned Parenthood. They stopped Amnesty funding, capped any increase in government spending, and did not fund PP. They stood strong against big government big spending, reconquista, baby killing, mainstream republicans like Mitch McConnell. On monday expect serious budget cutting proposals, and PP defunding etc. This flim flam big gov scam needed to be defeated to start the serious negotiations. Ya gotta say NO to crap, and this bill was that! I am truly shocked. Rand Paul has been such a voice for the Pro Life movement.

They play these games and they always have words to justify themselves. I want to see men who will go and literally let the country burn to the ground, default, go bankrupt and fall to pieces rather than compromise any more with evil. Draw the line and say no more. Stop threatening to go nuclear. Go nuclear and either defeat the other side or, if the other side cannot be defeated, bring the whole country down in utter ruin around everybody's head, so that in the aftermath something better can be put up. No more compromise with evil.

Mitt ain't my buddy. Rand stood with the demons today. The US Senate had a chance today to loudly proclaim murdering and chopping up innocent human life is evil and WRONG. Done! Some evil aholes wanted to add funding for illegal aliens, ObamaCare, and God only knows what other atrocities, but patriotic Americans said NO. Cut the crap, no baby killing was funded, or other evil government schemes either. There are as many Republicans as Democrats in the lake of fire. Why are you angry that evil was denied funding today? Because the other shamnesty funding will get approved. If the fiscal bottom line is more important to you than innocent human life being carved up using tax dollars, then your priorities and Rand's are confused. Kelly Ayotte is a huge disappointment . She won in 2010 against a Tea Party candidate mostly because she got an endorsement by Sarah Palin.

I criticize America because I want Americans to stop doing stupid and evil things that are destroying America. I don't give a damn about Libya, so I never talk about Libya. I very much give a damn about America - I see cancer killing the patient, and I want the cancer cut out. You are apparently unable to accept criticism of the country if it doesn't end with some sort of "but it doesn't really matter if we fix it our not" disclaimer. I disagree. If a place is evil and needs fixing, it needs to be fixed. If it will not be fixed, then it need to be replaced. Right and wrong are simply more important than some governmental structure.
