Before the ecstatic crowds that greeted the arrival of Pope Francis this afternoon, who knew that there were so many pious Christians in Washington, DC? “WASHINGTON — A city accustomed to power, fame and traffic-stopping motorcades offered an ecstatic reception on Wednesday for Pope Francis, who waved to vast crowds from a special open-sided Jeep and kissed babies carried to him by security personnel. Before the pope’s arrival at the White House on Wednesday morning, onlookers had been gathering for hours, with some camping out all night in hopes of a glimpse of white, the chosen vestments of popes. One spectator, Anna Wolf, said she did not even believe in God, but by 5:39 a.m., she had been waiting eight hours to see Francis. “I think he’s just, like, bringing the truth back,” she said. “I respect him.” …” Who knew that Jesus Christ came to fight “global climate change”? Like the tail of a comet, today’s Christianity is yesterday’s liberalism in religious garb.

True enough. This is a miserable little pope, grandstanding for the crowds with his fake humility hokum. However, he is suited to the role of the False Prophet who heralds the appearance of the Antichrist, in the same way that John the Baptist heralded the appearance of Jesus Christ. The Antichrist revealed in the Revelation will be a politician, a world leader. And the False Prophet shall lead the new global religion, the state church of the Antichrist's global government.
What...5 or so years I've been posting at LP and/or LF and this is the first time I've seen you post something related to Revelation. Wow.
I may have skimmed it once or twice. Like I said, John did differentiate pretty clearly between the False Prophet as the harbinger of the Antichrist and, subsequently, as the leader of the Antichrist's global state church. A pope might fit that role pretty well, as any Jack Chick reader knows.

He stole that title. Things To Come was a 1936 sci-fi film by H.G. Wells. It is in many respects the first true sci-fi movie. I caught a re-run of it just last month. Also on YouTube, 1:34:45.
