As social media makes the world a much smaller and connected place, law enforcement officers seem to be in the spotlight, a negative light.

Saturday, Sept. 19 is National Thank a Police Officer Day. This annual event was started by The Whole Truth Project.

The group suggest civilians make a small gesture to display appreciation and gratitude by saying "thank you."

Two years ago The Whole Truth Project and the City of Broussard celebrated "Thank a Police Officer Day" by delivering cookie and bloom baskets in the shape of badges-- just to say "Thank You."

The Whole Truth Project is an organization dedicated to protecting innocent police officers, wrongfully accused of police misconduct in wrongful conviction lawsuits and other civil rights cases.

Deckard... here is your chance to thank police on this day... a golden opportunity to show you don't have an agenda here. Thank you, state, local and county police... for doing an often times thankless job

I still have a number of friends in LE. None of them are assholes. When they come by the house, I do not have to worry that they will shoot my dogs, cats, or kids. We all get along great. They are all very good officers, and good people in general.

I'm glad you get the chance to see past the smoke and mirrors presented by the agenda posters here. Most officers, are as you know them. Good, honest people working a thankless job.

With that said, I don't really endorse this "thank a cop day". I never expected anyone to thank me for doing my job. A job I was paid decently for. I only posted the article to point out the forums cop haters. Some of the usual suspects showed up, above. lol

I have personally known a few, very few that should not have been hired. But most that I have ever known were as you say, good honest men. I have seen some of them go above & beyond the call of duty. Those officers I am proud to call friends, and they are welcome at my home anytime. They would do anything for me, and I would do anything for them.

We often trade "war stories", tips on hiding bodies, etc, LOL !!

Ha, I know hundreds. Not because they are corrupt... but because they lack common sense, courage, drive or strength. I have no use for weak, ignorant, non motivated peers. Most especially, cops. If I had the say so, I'd have canned 1/4 of the officers I supervised in my career.
