The manager says shortly after 2:00 p.m. a patron dropped a bullet, the powder ignited and the shrapnel from the bullet went into his leg. A bullet, aside from being fired from a gun will only detonate by a striking of the primer (which is impossible by dropping it) or HEAT... like tossing a cartridge in a fire pit. To: cranky (#2) I doubt the weight of a 22 shell, via falling, could impact the rim enough to detonate the cartridge. I've dropped many 22's on the ground. I've even pulled the bullets from them with pliers, dumped out the powder... and detonated them with strikes with a hammer. It takes a pretty good whack to detonate one.
