I bought a jar of pepperoncini peppers and there was a pickle slice in it. I didn't want a pickle slice or pay for it. It ruined my whole jar. I feel cheated.

Yes, you can. But the lawsuit will cost you more than you will get out of it.
You paid for a jar of peppers, and you got a pickle in it. The pickle changed the taste of the food. You did not get what you bargained for. They have to make you whole - either by reimbursing the cost of the jar or giving you a new one.
If they refuse, you can sue. The cost of the suit will exceed the cost of the pickle jar, and you will be viewed as having engaged in a frivolous lawsuit...which may result in sanctions unless you bring it in small claims court. There, it will cost you time, mostly, and filing fees, but if they don't make you whole, You will "win", but the game won't be worth the candle.
