To create a system that tracks illegal immigrants in the United States, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie wants to look to the way FedEx tracks packages.

Speaking in the early-voting state of New Hampshire, the GOP presidential candidate on Saturday said the United States needs a way to stop losing track of people who enter the country illegally.

"At any moment, FedEx can tell you where that package is. It’s on the truck. It’s at the station. It’s on the airplane," he said, according to NJ.com.

"So here's what I'm going to do as president: I'm going to ask Fred Smith, the founder of Federal Express, to come work for the government for three months at Immigration and Custom Enforcement and show these people,” Christie added.

“We need to have a system that tracks you from the moment you come in, and then when your time is up ... however long your visa is, then we go get you. We tap you on the shoulder and say, 'Thanks for coming. Time to go.' "

The report noted that Christie’s campaign spokeswoman, Samantha Smith, is Fred Smith’s daughter.

Christie said the U.S. has become a “nation of lawlessness” under President Obama.

The New Jersey governor also took an indirect shot at Donald Trump, who has called for building a wall along the southern U.S. border and making Mexico pay for it.

"Please do not think we're going to build a wall across the entire 2,000-mile border," said Christie, who added that he has met with Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto and did not expect him to pay the estimated $100 billion cost.

Christie added that the recent talk in the GOP presidential primary about repealing the 14th amendment makes Republicans "sound like we’re anti-immigrant.”

“And we're not,” he said. “We want people to do it legally."

What an idiot. The "immigrants" cross the border illegally and don't stop by the local border patrol station to check-in.

They should stick a chip up fat boys ass. Then when he gets to close to fatty foods it can give the asswiper a jolt.

Speaking of which, I saw a standup interview with Crispy and some pack of Luntz's Dunces on FNC. Luntz is fairly chunky but Christie is still obese. He was a real beach ball back when he hugged Obama right before the 2012 election and before his lap-band surgery but he is still very heavy, probably 350+ pounds from what I saw. He isn't a short man either.

and even that would require willful cooperation by the immigrant . His plan would most likely involve GPS tracking aka Lo jack . That is not how Fed Ex tracks packages .But clueless Christie wouldn't know that . Maybe he could ask his main bromance the emperor how well that worked when he tried giving guns to Drug Warlords so the guns could be tracked.

Hey! Maybe the dummy is on to something,as oppposed to being ON something?

I could get behind a program that delivers them back to Mexico by drones. Drop them off from 500 feet or so and you won't have to worry about them coming back.

"To create a system that tracks illegal immigrants in the United States, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie wants to look to the way FedEx tracks packages."

He stole that idea from Newt:

"You should control the border, which I have pledged to do by January 1, 2014. You should fix legal immigration in terms of visas so people can come and go more easily than doing it illegally. You should have a guest worker program, probably run by American Express, Visa or MasterCard so they minimize fraud, which the federal government won't do. And you should have much stronger employer penalties at that point because you can validate it."
