Republican Donald Trump says he wants to Make America Great Again as President but first, hes got to make it to jury duty. Despite running for President and running a massive, multi-billion-dollar company, Mr. Trump will be at jury duty Monday," Alan Garten, general counsel to the Trump Organization, said Friday.
A Manhattan judge earlier this year fined The Donald $250 for ignoring five jury summonses since 2006.
Trump never showed up, according to aides, because he simply never saw the notices: They went to a building which he owned but did not call home.
Manhattan County Clerk Milton Tingling agreed to let Trump report Aug. 17 after his lawyers assured him that would be a convenient time.
It's also traditionally one of the quietest stretches in Manhattan Supreme Court most judges and lawyers take vacation and there are no trials.
"He's got the same obligation as anyone else to serve when summoned," Garten said.
Once Trump has fulfilled his obligation, he wont be called again for six years.
Hell also take his place among the roster of New York A-listers to answer the call of the courts.
Among them: former President Bill Clinton, actors Robert De Niro and Glenn Close, and ex-Knicks Coach Jeff Van Gundy.
Trump fielded a question about his court date during a Friday night news conference in New Hampshire.
Can you believe Ill be doing jury duty on Monday morning, he confirmed, adding that he wasnt sure to which court he needed to report.
Im looking forward to it. I think its fun.
