Media STUNNED: Trump Poll #s SKYROCKET Following Debate Performance

Posted on August 10, 2015 by DCWhispers

They are now calling him “Teflon Don” – a nod to Donald Trump’s remarkable ability to plow through negative media coverage and inexplicably garner even more support among American voters. Now a just-released Morning Consult poll shows Mr. Trump’s approval rating jumping to 32% from 25% just last week.

Perhaps even more remarkable is Mr. Trump’s favorable ratings also improved from 57 to 62 percent despite an all-out media attack against the New York billionaire following his remarks directed at Fox News in general and Megyn Kelly in particular that indicated his belief the debate moderators were at times clearly out to damage his campaign. Donald Trump’s approval rating is now equal to that of Jeb Bush, Marco Rubio, Scott Walker and Ben Carson COMBINED.

Apparently a considerable number of viewers agreed with Mr. Trump’s assessment as indicated by his rise in the polls despite what many view as an average-at-best debate performance. Fox News is said to have received tens of thousands of social media comments outraged by the network’s treatment of Trump and some of the other outside the GOP mainstream debate participants.

This backlash was apparently enough to get the attention of Fox News president Roger Ailes who is said to have called Mr. Trump to assure the Republican candidate he would personally make certain the network would treat his campaign fairly.

If true, it is a remarkable show of strength not only by Donald Trump, but millions of interested American voters who have apparently had quite enough media manipulation being served up to them each election cycle…

HUH??? Trump's poll numbers LEAPED by 7%?? And he favorable ratings also improved from 57 to 62 percent??

Meh -- it's only a Poll.

;-)

The media's credibility (namely FOX News -- the others had no prior cred) has taken the biggest hit.

The more RINO's hate him; the more America likes him. Shows how popular the GOPe RINO's are. Win or lose, just based on the suffering his campaign has given the RINO's it has been well worth it. I enjoy the suffering of Erick Erickson like I enjoyed the suffering of Eric Cantor. And to see the RINO's on this forum whine because Trump pissed in their Wheaties; priceless!

Someone make the comment (and I'm paraphrasing), "Even if you want Trump to go away, those 32% aren't going away."

The more RINO's hate him; the more America likes him.

And un-nerving the "expert" pundits and "brains" of BOTH party cartels. They truly are shocked at this kind of backlash and contempt... for those who regard us with contempt. They are totally out of touch.

Even Dems know the score affects THEM; that even THEIR sheep are pausing to contemplate the kind of nation they foresee...and perhaps wanting to leave their plantation. Trump provides a convenient "PLAN 'B'...for ALL Americans.

We do NOT want to be Mexico. Trump made THIS singular issue THE focus of his campaign. Dubya ignored it. McStain ignored it. Romney ignored it. Jeb...well, stick a fork in him. It's a simple equation, isn't it? NO real American wants 50 million invaders usurping America's sovereignty, blood, guts, and wealth.

Shows how popular the GOPe RINO's are. Win or lose, just based on the suffering his campaign has given the RINO's it has been well worth it.

Exactly. The more "GOTCHA!" attempts by a reptilian media and GOPe party, the more they are looking like the cheap, tawdry losers they portray Trump as. THIS phenomena -- no matter what -- has given us great pleasure and Schadenfreude.

enjoy the suffering of Erick Erickson like I enjoyed the suffering of Eric Cantor. And to see the RINO's on this forum whine because Trump pissed in their Wheaties; priceless!

Lol, absolutely priceless. Whether this forum, at FR, or FOX News. The smug Cantor's shock was particularly ...priceless. "Pack up, RINO-BOY. You're now a Lobbyist." Erickson is toast.

TC, I've seen you dismiss Trump's influence in viewer participation here a couple of times.

The usual viewership in the past has been 3 mil, right?

THIS past FOX News debate was 24 mil, correct?

The number for the "JV" debate was 6 million. The interest TRUMP has created was THE ONLY factor and cause for interest in THAT "debate" of 6 million. Denying this isn't even arguable. Without Trump in this race, it'd have probably have been *half* of the usual "Varsity's" 3 mil.

RINO's don't do math. They import democrat voters, and then wonder why they lose elections. California went GOP in the presidential election for forty years excepting 1964. TrueCuckservative immigration policy handed all those electoral votes to the democrats.

Now a just-released Morning Consult poll

A poll almost as ridiculous as the cites of SurveyMonkey (self-selected online polling for Facebook and others, a corporate PollDaddy).

MC has 16 staff, produce a bunch of rehashed news stories with less than 50K subscribers to their stories.

They are nobodies. I can't even readily discover how long they've been in business but only a few years from what I gather.

I know I never heard Survey Monkey or Morning Consult cited as poll sources prior to this election cycle.

Beyond that, polling on such notorious public figures cannot be very accurate. I'll point out once again that at this point in 2007, Giuliani was favorable in the range of 65% with Republican voters and look how that turned out as his liberal positions (but far more conservative than Trump's) became better known.

It's all name recognition at this point.

You're as delusional about this as you are about your various dark conspiracy theories.

If more people were off work (west coast) or commuting home (east coast), I think the early debate would have hit 10 million easily.

BTW, there are some other new polls from more established polling outfits, both commercial and academic, that are show Trump's numbers falling and his negatives rising.

RINO's don't do math.

Aaah, but they DO! That's how they base their plan to lose magnificently to Dem Muzzies, Communists and Rapists in Chiefs. Do you know how HARD it must be to act as though they actually want to win after nominating one GOPe/RINO patsy after another??

They import democrat voters, and then wonder why they lose elections.

Again...they've know exactly what they've been doing, the snakes. Ever since Poppy Bush's "Compassionate Conservatism" campaign in which he embarrassed AND dismissed The Gipper (after riding his coattails), they've been lying patsies for the agenda of the New World Order and Dems.

We KNOW: Conservatism WINS elections. So does the RNC-GOPe. Which is exactly why the Establishment Republicans who run the party LOSE.

Even if Trump was somehow forced out by the GOPe hit machine, those 32% are unlikely to move to a GOPe candidate. They might migrate to Cruz or Carson or third party or stay home.

WHY are people still referring to the Megyn-Wallace Ambush Show as a "debate"?

Because they don't want to compare Megyn Kelly and Chris Wallace and Bret Baier to the challengers in a Ronda Rousey UFC event.

For comparison sake, here are the questions that were posed to Marco Rubio.

WALLACE: Senator Rubio, when Jeb Bush announced his candidacy for presidency, he said this: "There's no passing off responsibility when you're a governor, no blending into the legislative crowd."

Could you please address Governor Bush across the stage here, and explain to him why you, someone who has never held executive office, are better prepared to be president than he is, a man who you say did a great job running your state of Florida for eight years.

- - - - -

WALLACE: All right, well, Senator Rubio, let me see if I can do better with you. Is it as simple as our leaders are stupid, their leaders are smart, and all of these illegals coming over are criminals?

- - - - -

BAIER: Senator Rubio, why is Governor Bush wrong on Common Core?

- - - - -

WALLACE: Senator Rubio.

Senator Rubio, more than 3,000 people sent us questions about the economy and jobs on Facebook. And here is a video question from Tania Cioloko from Philadelphia. Here she is.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

QUESTION: Please describe one action you would do to make the economic environment more favorable for small businesses and entrepreneurs and anyone dreaming of opening their own business.

(CLOSE VIDEO CLIP)

- - - - -

KELLY: Senator Rubio, you favor a rape and incest exception to abortion bans. Cardinal Timothy Dolan of New York just said yesterday those exceptions are preposterous. He said they discriminate against an entire class of human beings. If you believe that life begins at conception, as you say you do, how do you justify ending a life just because it begins violently, through no fault of the baby?

[Followup] KELLY: You don't favor a rape and incest exception?

- - - - -

KELLY: Senator Rubio, I want to ask you the same question. But I do want to mention, a woman just came here to the stage and asked, what about the veterans? I want to hear more about what these candidates are going to do for our nation's veterans.

So I put the question to you about God and the veterans, which you may find to be related.

- - - - -

[asking for closing statement] BAIER: Senator Marco Rubio.

- - - - -

Note: Kelly's abortion rape and incest question seems to be tough inquiry, but she "forgot" the followup. Show of hands, how many think Kelly and Fox News were unaware of this co-sponsorship?

Marco Rubio was a co-sponsor of S.1670, the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act.

https://www.congress.gov/bill/113th-congress/senate-bill/1670

Summary: S.1670 — 113th Congress (2013-2014)

There is one summary for this bill. Bill summaries are authored by CRS.

Shown Here:

Introduced in Senate (11/07/2013)

Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act - Amends the federal criminal code to prohibit any person from performing or attempting to perform an abortion except in conformity with this Act's requirements.

Requires the physician to first determine the probable post-fertilization age of the unborn child, or reasonably rely upon such a determination made by another physician, by making inquiries of the pregnant woman and performing such medical examinations and tests as a reasonably prudent physician would consider necessary.

Prohibits the abortion from being performed if the probable post-fertilization age of the unborn child is 20 weeks or greater, except: (1) where necessary to save the life of a pregnant woman whose life is endangered by a physical disorder, illness, or injury, excluding psychological or emotional conditions; or (2) where the pregnancy is the result of rape, or the result of incest against a minor, if the rape has been reported at any time prior to the abortion to an appropriate law enforcement agency, or if the incest has been reported at any time prior to the abortion to an appropriate law enforcement agency or to a government agency legally authorized to act on reports of child abuse or neglect. Permits a physician to terminate a pregnancy under such an exception only in the manner that provides the best opportunity for the unborn child to survive, unless that manner would pose a greater risk than other available methods would pose of the death or substantial and irreversible physical impairment of a major bodily function, excluding psychological or emotional conditions, of the pregnant woman.

Subjects individuals who violate this Act to a fine, imprisonment for not more than five years, or both. Bars prosecution of a woman upon whom an abortion is performed in violation of this Act for violating or conspiring to violate this Act.

Defines "abortion" to mean the use or prescription of any instrument, medicine, drug, or any other substance or device to intentionally kill an unborn child or to intentionally terminate a pregnancy with an intention other than: (1) after viability, to produce a live birth and preserve the life and health of the child; or (2) to remove a dead unborn child.

https://www.congress.gov/bill/113th-congress/senate-bill/1670/text

“(2)(A) Except as provided in subparagraph (B), the abortion shall not be performed or attempted, if the probable post-fertilization age, as determined under paragraph (1), of the unborn child is 20 weeks or greater.

“(B) Subject to subparagraph (C), subparagraph (A) does not apply if—

“(i) in reasonable medical judgment, the abortion is necessary to save the life of a pregnant woman whose life is endangered by a physical disorder, physical illness, or physical injury, including a life-endangering physical condition caused by or arising from the pregnancy itself, but not including psychological or emotional conditions; or

“(ii) the pregnancy is the result of rape, or the result of incest against a minor, if the rape has been reported at any time prior to the abortion to an appropriate law enforcement agency, or if the incest against a minor has been reported at any time prior to the abortion to an appropriate law enforcement agency or to a government agency legally authorized to act on reports of child abuse or neglect.

“(C) Notwithstanding the definitions of ‘abortion’ and ‘attempt an abortion’ in this section, a physician terminating or attempting to terminate a pregnancy under an exception provided by subparagraph (B) may do so only in the manner which, in reasonable medical judgment, provides the best opportunity for the unborn child to survive, unless, in reasonable medical judgment, termination of the pregnancy in that manner would pose a greater risk of—

“(i) the death of the pregnant woman; or

“(ii) the substantial and irreversible physical impairment of a major bodily function, not including psychological or emotional conditions, of the pregnant woman;

than would other available methods.

Here is the Q&A:

KELLY: Senator Rubio, you favor a rape and incest exception to abortion bans. Cardinal Timothy Dolan of New York just said yesterday those exceptions are preposterous. He said they discriminate against an entire class of human beings. If you believe that life begins at conception, as you say you do, how do you justify ending a life just because it begins violently, through no fault of the baby?

RUBIO: Well, Megyn, first of all, I’m not sure that that’s a correct assessment of my record. I would go on to add that I believe all–

KELLY: You don’t favor a rape and incest exception?

RUBIO: I have never said that. And I have never advocated that. What I have advocated is that we pass law in this country that says all human life at every stage of its development is worthy of protection.

In fact, I think that law already exists. It is called the Constitution of the United States.

(APPLAUSE)

RUBIO: And let me go further. I believe that every single human being is entitled to the protection of our laws, whether they can vote or not. Whether they can speak or not. Whether they can hire a lawyer or not. Whether they have a birth certificate or not. And I think future generations will look back at this history of our country and call us barbarians for murdering millions of babies who we never gave them a chance to live.

Did Rubio co-sponsor a piece of legislation whose terms he finds to be repugnant to the Constitution?
