Wondering About Carly Fiorina on the 2nd Amendment? Wonder No More…

Carly Fiorina has seen a huge surge since the GOP debates on Thursday. So big in fact, that many people who’d never even heard of her are now rushing to catch up on research. You can peruse this site, as I’ve talked about her for a long, long time. It seems that a lot of gun owners are now asking about where she stands on the 2nd amendment. Truth is, she addressed this back in April… but nobody was listening. Probably because they were too busy salivating over Trump’s next gaffe.

Well, she’s Carly Fiorina, the ‘honey badger’, so what did you think she was going to say?

Every time I hear some politician spout weasel words claiming that "I am a hunter" when asked about gun control,I grit my teeth. The 2nd Amendment has nothing to do with the right to hunt, and never has. Now we finally have a political candidate that says this in front of cameras, and explains why in simple and precise language.

So when will you all rise up and start a civil war already to overthrow the govt? If that is the reason for having a 2nd amend what is the check list say when it can be used? Or is pretending that you are a militia like a way for someone to have a gun fetish to buy all those guns?

I don't expect you to understand. You are the product of a defective leftist education.

Despite some disturbing liberal positions when she ran for CA Senate seat, she is well-prepared for this national race.

She saw what Romney, a fellow-Blue stater, did right and wrong in the 2012 race as a surrogate and insider. She learned a lot, it seemed.

In her 2015 incarnation, she makes a good GOP candidate, better than Palin ever was.

Yes,she does, but on the other hand, look at what she is competing with. In a room full of people with IQ's of 50,anyone with an IQ of 100 is clearly a genius.

better than Palin ever was.

To be fair to Palin, she was never 1st string to begin with. She was hired to play a supporting role to one of the worse presidential candidates in history, and every time she opened her mouth to help him and his poll numbers went up,he slapped her back down to her "proper place".

She also said a CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT,and I suspect she got them both from the writing of the people who wrote the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

IN CONTEXT,it means "A right that all humans possessed prior to the establishment of any government, and one that no government has the right to take away."

Sure it does. It is about the right to hunt "man" for defensive purposes.

WEAPONS existed prior to the establishment of any government, and firearms are also weapons.

You can't possibly be that fucking ignorant of history.

Beats me,but what is the relevance? Are you trying to claim Abel would still be alive today if Cain hadn't had a AR-15?

No, but maybe Carly Fiorina thinks he'd still be alive if God had given Abel a concealed carry permit.

The right to keep and bear arms was used in the classic sense and was not restricted to firearms.

The colonial militias required men to own a sword at minimum. You might look up the laws requiring them to do so and the inspections carried out to ensure they did, the fines that could be levied for failure to comply.

It was yet another radical innovation of the early Republic. Enlightenment era stuff.

the fines that could be levied for failure to comply.

In other words, the 2nd Amendment protects the "right" to compulsory servetude in the militia?

That doesn't have anything to do with liberty and freedom, that's for sure.

The Founders thought you had a God-given right (and duty!) to arm yourself to defend said Founders from any attempt by King George to come kill them for leading a rebellion against the king's authority.

If owning firearms was a "God given right" then everyone would have that right, correct?

Life is a God given right. Liberty is a God given right. Everyone has those rights -- men, women, children, foreigners, felons, the insane.

Do all those groups also have the right to keep and bear arms?

I may be wrong, but I think you are overreacting to her "Gods will" statement. It's mostly7 a generic term now that means whatever you want it to mean.

I sometimes use it,and very few people ever call me a fundie/

I may be wrong, but I believe this was a reaction to England at one time having a law banning anyone but nobility or the Kings Men from owning/possession swords.

I believe that was one of the reasons the Magna Carta was created, but it's been at least 3 decades since I read much about that, and things are more than a little fuzzy these days.

With the exceptions of crazy people locked away in mental hospitals and criminals locked away in jails, the answer is "HELL YES!"

And there was never any question of this until the Dims forced the un-Constitutional Gun Control Act of 1968 through congress, and that felon LBJ signed it into law.

And it will remain the law even though it is un-Constituonal because the politicized Supreme Court will never agree to hear any case that questions the legality of it.

It's debatable which gun control act was more unconstitutional, that of 1958, or the act of 1933. -- I'd vote for '33, meself.
