I was impressed with Carly Fiorina, as well. Not only the debate itself, but the way she handled Chris Matthews. My only concern - when she ran for the Senate in CA, how did she lose to perhaps the only woman in politics stupider than Nancy Pelosi (i.e. Boxer)? I just happen to personally believe the whole "God" thing is nothing more than a scam,but I have never tried to claim people don't have a right to believe what they want to believe as long as they aren't harming anyone. I also don't want a "True Believer" in anything but the US Constitution and the Bill of Rights sitting in the WH,and will NOT vote for one because a True Believer will put his religious beliefs ahead of everything else,and that is the kind of crap that leads to religious slavery and Holy Wars. I am still not impressed by Cruz's stage ability. He is smart and probably a great court lawyer but he is trying to dumb it down and seem sincere (does he look like that always with the attempt to make an earnest face or is that an act?). Anyway, as a marketing guy myself I see Cruz as Joe Isuzu.... The rest kind of did as good as I expected and I think Dr Carson redeemed himself in my eyes. For a long time, this very smart neurosurgeon always sounded like a retard Freeper - and not know the Baltic countries were in NATO would just have me wondering if he was really smart or just an affirmative action doctor? But last night Carson spoke in a way that redeemed him in my eyes. He is a smart guy but knows jack about foreign policy and politics so he was copying talk show radio points (like Trump did). Also, why are we calling these debates "debates" - they are question and answer sessions. Trump did OK - no knockout tonight by him on the others but I think he won't be hurt too much by how new he was to the process. Chris Christie's support for the Patriot Act and mentioning 9/10 and 9/11 over and over made me sick. I fucking hate Republicans invoking 9/11 after the shit those morons did under retard Bush. Paul had it right - get a warrant from a judge you fat piece of shit. Paul seemed combative but that is not his strength. Oh, and Bush looked puzzled. Like he was not expecting it to be this hard or something.

The same way she tore Hewlett Packard to shreds as CEO. That woman is a smooth talking dud who rides a meticulously groomed public image but has accomplished nothing of substance. She's the biggest destructive con person of the lot and is dangerous.
Paul had good positions but he was way too eager to jump in on the attack, especially going after Trump right out of the gate as a Xlinton puppet. Christie, like most of the others, want to declare war on Rand Paul and anyone who doesn't want to invade Syria/Iraq/Iran. The GOP is delusional if they think they will win by promising more wars in the Mideast. The public will not sign up for it. Inasmuch as Rand Paul is the only GOP candidate who isn't promising war, he did okay. But I doubt he gained many votes last night so the debate did nothing to move him up the list.
I agree with you - at least you saw it like I did - Paul was eager to jump in but it does not always work for him - not his style. Trump needs to prepare more. Just bar room talk about building Mexican walls (which I support) is not enough. Debates never sway me because I am political junkie and already have my mind made up unless the person is a drooling idiot on stage. Trump being anti-free trade and saying so on TV really made me feel good. I am an old school conservative and patriot even when I am doing my anti-American trolling. I fucking hate the idea of open borders and free trade. It's become a GOP ideology because they are so pro business it hurts but it was not always the case.

I was surprised at how brazen the GOP candidates were in promising a ground invasion of Syria and a second invasion of Iraq. How can they possibly think they can win the general election when the voters are so opposed to more Mideast wars? Only a 9/11-style attack could move the public to support the foreign policy of the Stain/Lieberman/Graham/Krauthammer and the other neocon belligerents. I'm not sure even another 9/11 could get the public on board for another Mideast war. They sound way too eager to find any pretext to invade the Mideast again.

For some reason my tablet no longer likes playing videos (even with a Flash Player update) even on YouTube. However, was able to view the above on the MSNBC site. Wow...She did not squirm or deflect and went right at it on Hardball. Which means it was not scripted and she knows what she is talking about. All 950 million Android devices can be compromised by sending a single invisible MMS message to corrupt the texting/photo feature. You may recall your computer could get taken over by a malicious web JPG or BMP or GIF picture. Google and Samsung are so nervous they have finally committed to monthly security updates for all Android devices. Long long overdue. So you'll get patches now with newer devices and Google's own Nexus products getting the best and fastest patches. Older Androids won't benefit. You'd be surprised how many techies, celebs and top corporate players are going back to dumb flip phones and dumping their smartphones. BTW, you might check on those iPads/iPhones before you buy one for Flash. They don't like Flash either. However, Apple does have a pretty solid YouTube client but you can't just run any old Flash website on Apple's devices. And few people want to because Flash is just so vulnerable. That's why you have to update it every week. Much like WinXP, you just can't fix it technically.

A rare bit of good news. Israelis says they can protect any Windows machine from zero-day exploits, an astonishing claim. It appears this is some kind of Windows clone.
I would love to see a real debate. You're right - these things we look at every election cycle are NOT debates. While it probably wouldn't have worked last night - too many players - a real debate where the candidates challenge each other (with little moderator interruption) would be revealing and educational. It would work with 2 or 3 candidates. I would have loved to be at one of the Lincoln/Douglas debates. I wonder if they could have dumbed it down to the point where it would have made for good TV, though
I would love to see a real debate. You're right - these things we look at every election cycle are NOT debates. I think debates are a hold over from earlier times - I mean real debates like in college. The earliest elections did not have the actual candidate campaigning because it was seen as too unseemly. You had surrogates do that for the candidate. It was bad form to praise yourself and say you are better than the other guy. We are entering a more crass phase of election styles.
It boggles me this security feature is still not fixed. Is it because Windows needs a backdoor into your copy.

You could do an afternoon debate, ask serious policy questions, have a formal debate system, let pairs face off with a main argument on a topic and then pepper each other with questions. The only problem is that lawyers would excel. And Ted Cruz would demonstrate why he was a Princeton/Harvard debate champ. But would it make him a better president. Our presidents are elected to act on their own judgment, not to debate the cabinet on policy. This is why presidents don't debate the cabinet. They set policy and tell the cabinet to implement it.

Thursday night Mozilla released a Firefox security patch after finding a serious vulnerability that allows malicious attackers to upload files from a user's computer. The update was released about 24 hours after Mozilla learned of the flaw. In a blog post, Mozilla said, "a Firefox user informed us that an advertisement on a news site in Russia was serving a Firefox exploit that searched for sensitive files and uploaded them to a server that appears to be in Ukraine. This morning Mozilla released security updates that fix the vulnerability. All Firefox users are urged to update to Firefox 39.0.3. The fix has also been shipped in Firefox ESR 38.1.1." Samy Kamkar has built a new device called Rolljam that is about the size of a wallet and can intercept the codes used to unlock most cars and many garage doors. The device can be hidden underneath a vehicle and when the owner approaches and hits the unlock button on her key or remote, the device grabs the unique code sent by the remote and stores it for later use. The device takes advantage of an issue with the way that vehicles that use rolling codes for unlocking produce and receive those codes. Kamkar said that the device works on most vehicles and garage doors that use rolling, rather than fixed codes.
I'm almost afraid to read the tech news any more for fear of finding out about yet another major security hole in my equipment and software.
Sounds too good to be true, but Morphisec, an Israeli startup, claims to have built an unhackable version of Windows. Its not yet publicly available, a red flag if ever I saw one, but internal testing has had a 100% success rate: "In a statement for BI, Dudu Mimran, the co-founder of the company, describes this new OS version as the Windows that 'Microsoft should be doing,' explaining that, while the platform was initially designed for government use, it can be actually installed by any enterprise that wants to make sure that no hack is possible. Basically, this operating can block any zero-day attack, the founder says, thanks to the operating system randomizing all memory, which means that the hacker cannot target the computer memory and compromise the data stored on the drives."
What things memory randomization does not fix, left as an exercise for the reader.
