Title: Poll: Trump Crushes Bush and Walker Combined; Favorability Rockets to 52%.

Because of the small sample size, there were a lot of questions surrounding Monday’s Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll that showed Donald Trump leading the Republican primary field and, interestingly enough, appearing to siphon votes away from establishment candidates like Jeb Bush and Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL)80% .

A Monmouth University poll, also released Monday and with a somewhat larger sample size and smaller margin of error, shows Trump in first place, beating both Scott Walker and Jeb Bush combined.

The poll puts Trump in first place with 26% support. Second place Jeb Bush and third place Scott Walker sit at 12% and 11%, respectively.

That is what you call a blow out.

The remainder of the “top ten” includes Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX)96% (6%), Mike Huckabee (6%), Ben Carson (5%), Chris Christie (4%), Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY)93% (4%), Marco Rubio (4%), and John Kasich (3%). Carly Fiorina and Rick Perry each earn 2% and Bobby Jindal, Rick Santorum, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC)47% , George Pataki, and Jim Gilmore each get 1% or less. Another 10% of GOP voters say they still are unsure who they will support for the party’s nomination.

Compared to the last Monmouth poll just three weeks ago, Trump’s support increased 13%, while Walker jumped 4%. Bush and Cruz both lost 3%.

The biggest news here is the increase in Trump’s favorability rating, which is now at 52% favorable to 35% unfavorable.

Three weeks ago, the millionaire businessman was upside-down 40% to 41%.

Currently, Trump’s favorability rating is higher than that of Mike Huckabee (51%), Rand Paul (48%), Rick Perry (46%), Ben Carson (45%), Bobby Jindal (36%), and Carly Fiorina (30%). Chris Christie, Lindsey Graham, and George Pataki are currently at 30% favorable or below.

Moreover, Trump’s 52% favorability ties Bush and Cruz. Only Marco Rubio beats Trump with 54%.

Trump’s unfavorable rating is only 6% higher than that of Jeb Bush.

Trump is winning among men and women, young and old, conservative Republicans and liberal Republicans, Tea Party Republicans and non-Tea Party Republicans.

As Trump rose in the polls, his detractors in the media and GOP Establishment kept pointing to his high unfavorable ratings as a sign that his potential ceiling of support was too low for him to win the Republican nomination.

According to this poll, at least, that is no longer the case. All you need in a two-person race is 51%. That number is even lower when you add more candidates.

Let's see ....Trump talks trash about McCain's military record ,and when the NH Union Leader writes a negative Op Ed about his comments ,he bows out of the 1st forum where all the candidates view were aired and questioned . Is that what we can expect from Trump in the future ? Run away ! Is Trump showing that he can't handle the day to day grind of being a candidate .Is it that he is so thin skinned that he'd rather pout when challenged by a potentially hostile interviewer than try to persuade ? Maybe it's because he is the only candidate in the Republican field who has supported nationalized health care ,higher taxes ,amnesty ,and has given tons of money to Democrats . Would he be a no show President too ?

Let's see ....Trump talks trash about McCain's military record

Yes he did. Trump trashed McCain, BECAUSE McCain trashed the people listening to Trump as "crazies".

McCain insulted Trump's audience, so Trump took aim squarely at McCain, and hit him in a place where he is weak. Yes, he was a prisoner in Vietnam, and that was terrible, but he got to be a prisoner in Vietnam because he got himself shot down by being an idiot (and that was the second or third plane he wrecked).

John Kerry was a Vietnam vet with a couple of Purple Hearts, and the Republicans were happy to Swift Boat his Vietnam service when it suited their purposes. McCain was a fuck up in the military. He wasted his Annapolis education and destroyed three airplanes. He redeemed his honor by behaving honorably as a prisoner of war.

But if McCain is going to impugn the intelligence of thousands of people, calling them crazies, then his own character and record are open game. And truth is, McCain's military record was pretty shameful until he got shot down. And then, in prison, he did what was right.

He came home a hero, was elected to Congress, and hasn't done what was right since.

If you call the People "crazy", you are fair game. McCain attacked the People. Trump attacked McCain. The hysteria that resulted reminds me of the hysteria when the Swift Boaters outed Kerry. The problem that Kerry and McCain both have is that the attacks against their military records were true. So all that's left is spluttering outrage that anybody should dare to call these men out for being the mediocre officers they were.

It wrecked their meme. The only reason McCain or Kerry are in Congress is because of their war record, and adulterous marriages to wealthy women. If they don't want to be reminded of that, they should not attack the people. If they attack the people, their feet of clay should be exposed.

When you live in a glass house, do not throw stones.

McCain was a ---- up in the military. He wasted his Annapolis education and destroyed three airplanes. He redeemed his honor by behaving honorably as a prisoner of war.

And is suspected of being the pilot that fired a missle on an aircraft carrier destroying a dozen planes and killing more than one, if memory serves me correctly.

Had McCain's dad and grandad not been 3 and 4 star admirals, McCain would have been court-martialed.

glad you addressed the key point of my comment "Maybe it's because he is the only candidate in the Republican field who has supported nationalized health care ,higher taxes ,amnesty ,and has given tons of money to Democrats ".
