Title: Trump: I Will Consider Third-Party Run if GOP Doesn’t Treat Me ‘Fairly’

Sunday on ABC’s “This Week,” Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said he would “certainly not give up” the possibility of running as a third-party candidate if he is not treated “fairly” by the GOP.

When asked if he would pledge not to run as third-party candidate, Trump said, “I’m leading in every poll, in some cases by a tremendous margin. People who know me aren’t surprised. If I’m treated fairly by the Republican Party I would no interest in doing that. If I’m not treated fairly by the Republican Party, I very well might consider that, I would certainly not give that up.”

Death to the Republican party!!!!

Any party that gave us George Bush, Jr as president, twice, deserves to die.

Yes they will.

I still remember, and you probably do too, all the establishment types that before Reagan got elected, talked about him like a mangy dog. But after he was elected, the fist words out of their mouths was " I am a Reagan Conservative ".

But remember - the price for a Reagan was a Bush (as VP)

Will history repeat itself?

Will Jeb be Trump's VP?

I don't know - stranger things have happened.

(I still don't ever see the gop-e ever allowing Trump to get the nod, however. So the question is moot)

Never.

60% of the public refuses to ever vote for Trump, no matter who his opponent is. Third party or as GOP nominee.

You simply cannot win the current electoral map with such negatives. And Trump is over 98% name recognition. And people know more than just his name, they know something about him as well.

I don't see how Trump wins the party elite. No one becomes the nominee without the assent of the party bosses in the GOP, just like with the Dems.

Nope, the northeast lib Republicans still looked down their noses at him. More of them did cave somewhat after the '84 election. Some of them refused consistently to ever say that they were Reagan Republicans. Romney, for instance, denied rather vehemently on a number of occasions that he was a Reagan Republican in any way. What you say is true. It is rather troubling.

But they handled Reagan Pre EV, Pre Electronic Voting. Ever wonder why they wanted that so bad?

With Electronic Voting, they can get any kind of results they want, whenever they want, simply by a few keystrokes.

Troubling, yes?

In the final analysis, I firmly believe that our nations ills are so massive, so numerous, so complex, so pervasive that there is no political solution. The only thing I can hope for is that somehow, someway, some one can slow down our march over the cliff!

Some may say that I am being pessimistic. I consider it to be a realistic assessment. If I did not have children, I would not give a chit.

Sadly, I think our nation is screwed! I see noting to change my mind.

More like 41%.

Then you have the lib GOP types, 9% of Republicans voted for Obama in both his elections. Right there, you're at 50%. Add 5% of the indy voters and 5-10% of your usual GOP country club types and you get to 60% anti-Trump voters easily.

So I do find that polling pretty credible.

OTOH, Trump is so radioactive that even Cruz and Rand Paul look like rock-ribbed pillars of Republican virtue and stability by comparison.     : )

My memory is a lot different than yours. I remember all of them, especially after Reagan left office, were all "me too, me too, me too" I am a Reagan Republican". The same azzholes that before he ran did nothing but talk about him like a mangy dog. And they all were, & still are AZZHOLES!

Your memory is obviously different. They were all for "the establishment" and hated anybody that challenged them. They hated Goldwater also, but since he did not win, they never felt the need to try to appear to be in alignment with him, like they did Reagan.

I hope the repuke party goes the way of the Whigs. That is what they deserve!

Biden's going to get Obama's support to run for the Democrat nomination. The AG will thrown Hillary under the bus over the e-mails, to get her out of the way.

Biden will beat any Republican.

So there's your next President: Joe Biden. I prefer him to Hilary, Jeb, Rubio, Perry, Paul. I like Trump, and if it were Crus versus Biden, I'd prefer Cruz. But that's not going to happen. Cruz could be Trump's VP candidate. Are there any of the "moderate" Republicans who have not treated Trump with disrespect? Has Rubio kept his mouth shut? Trump/Rubio might be able to beat Biden.

Trump/Oprah would win outright.

Yeah, but not all of them.

Until 2008, Romney never mentioned Reagan other than to deny he was ever a Reagan Republican. Mitt said this a number of times over the years when accused of being a Ronny fan. Never a kind word for Reagan until he finally set foot outside Boston and realized that that Reagan guy was kinda popular with Republican voters.

Now you're kinda sliding down to "especially after he left office".

Actually, the GOP needs to dump the whole Saint Ronny bit. It sounds totally out of touch and a little creepy to the millennials who do not happen to love a prez that left office before they were born. You'll notice that the Dems have cut way back on idolizing FDR and JFK too, for the same reason.

A win is a win.

After having beaten the dumbasses the Republicans put up, through irresistible fraud or no, he proceeded to get universal health insurance adopted, kill Bin Laden, and break the lock of the Israeli lobby on American Middle Eastern policy.

So he was quite effective at getting what he wanted.

The deficit is coming down, and the country is doing ok. Not great, but ok relative to the rest of the world. There is no incipient backlash against Obama in the electorate. The Democrat has a better chance of winning the election than the Republican.

None of this makes you happy. You're going to be unhappy for a long time, I'm afraid.

Trump would be fun. Trump Oprah would be a hoot. I'll vote Republican if THAT'S the ticket. But the rest of these clowns? I guess I'd vote for Cruz, but he has as much chance of getting the nomination as Lindsey Graham. Biden will be the next President, and life will go on. Over time, Obamacare will be adjusted and become single payer.

Over time, Obamacare will be adjusted and become single payer.

And that's a good thing. Universal Medicare should have been the plan from the start. Get rid of Medicaid and Tri-Care, and go to universal Medicare. Adjust taxes to pay for it. That's the best answer.

We'll either eventually get there, or the private insurer crony capitalists will bribe the government to keep it all with them.

Biden is such a blithering idiot even the msm can't cover it up.

As it stands right now, O'Malley is the one to beat, imho. Clinton has been finished for months and Sanders won't get the funding.

But it's a long time till Nov 2016.

Biden is such a blithering idiot even the msm can't cover it up.

As it stands right now, O'Malley is the one to beat, imho. Clinton has been finished for months and Sanders won't get the funding.

Biden has the Obama Machine. He has the Obama fundraising. He has the Attorney General. He has a very wicked and powerful national organization behind him, via Obama. Obama likes Biden and hates Hillary, and a Biden put in power by Team Obama will surround himself with Team Obama, and Team Obama will continue to exert great power, over and against Team Clinton (who, with the defeat of Hillary - a third consecutive defeat at the hands of Team Obama - will be seen a weak, declining has- been's.

People back the strong horse, and in Democrat party politics, the strong horse has been Obama. In particular, by breaking the power of the Israeli over US foreign policy, Obama has empowered himself tremendously, gaining the support of many other groups. Clinton would return to the old power lines, and everybody who won with Obama would lose with Clinton. Obama will take her down.

Obama won't have the same influence with O'Malley. He simply doesn't have the national power.

REPUBLICANS ridicule Biden, but the REST of the country likes him ok. Gaffes that Republicans think are fatal, are not. The only people who see every Democrat misstep through fierce partisan eyes are Republicans, and Republicans are 32% of the electorate, divided and dwindling.

The Republicans won the mid-terms for two reasons: (1) It was a mid-term. Presidents always lose in mid-terms (the one exception was after the Republicans impeached Clinton; the Democrats GAINED seats after that fiasco). (2) Lots of people were very discontented over Obamacare.

But now the Supreme Court has spoken twice, it's here to stay, and most people have come to grips with that. Obama won a great victory (again from the Republican Supreme Court) on gay marriage - his supporters and the independents are happy about that.

The economy is doing ok relative to everywhere else. China is reeling and Europe has Greece. We're looking stable and improving.

Obama is looking Presidential, and is being vindicated by events, and the Republicans are looking like traitors to their own base.

And now immigration is on the table. Immigration is a winner for Democrats. The Republicans cannot give their base what it wants, because the crony capitalists want cheap exploitable labor and will not accept anything bit - and the Republican politicians' paychecks come from the crony capitalists. So the Republican base will be bitter, divided, angry, and many won't come out.

The Democrats are the odds-on favorites to win this time.

Therefore, who the Democrat is matters from the DEMOCRAT perspective, because who it is decides the Democrat power structure of the future. Will it be a return to the Clintons and all that? Will it be striking out into the unknown with a new guy? Or will it be Team Obama, Part II?

It'll be Team Obama Part II. Biden will win the nomination, and he'll be the next President.

I can't believe all these Trump comparisons to Reagan. Trump is no conservative and not even close to one . His solutions are all statist big government and his argument is that he can efficiently deliver the goods better than any of his Repubic or Democrat opponents .
