Besides having some of the catchiest them songs in the world, this is one of the best tv series ever aired.
For those of you who haven't seen this show and are readers,it is based on an Elmore Leonard short story, and he was one of the executives and writers right up to the time of his death.
Some of the best character actors ever seen, and some of the best writing ever written.
If you have ever been around any genuine rednecks in your life, you will recognize people you know. I laugh every time Dickie Bennet or Dewey Crowe show up in a scene.
Do yourself a favor and start with episode 1 or season 1 so it all fits together for you.
Americans who have no experience with, or knowledge of, tyranny believe that only terrorists will experience the unchecked power of the state. They will believe this until it happens to them, or their children, or their friends.

Why is democracy held in such high esteem when it’s the enemy of the minority and makes all rights relative to the dictates of the majority? (Ron Paul,2012)
It makes no sense at all,but it works in this one case, anyhow.
BTW,I suspect this is the only existing example of that genre. Homeboyz and hillbillies is never a good mixture.

Works OK with Darius Rucker, although technically I don't think he ever embraced the rap culture.
There was some flash-in-the-pan country band with a black lead singer a few years back that was famous for about a week that did something of a country rap style.
Bluegrass rap? Not so much.
The whole idea seems somewhat blasphemous.

You are correct Pete. My wife turned me onto the show. She is a big TV buff. I started from S1E1, and went through to the end. Damn good writing, damn good acting. I really hated to see it end.
Remember Maggs Bennet, with the perfect Kentucky accent? She is now playing a Russian spy in "The Americans".
BTW,Walton Goggins (Boyd Crowder) was also a co-star on The Shield before Justified. That was also one hell of a great series
Goggins also played the role of the trannie prostitute in the last two seasons of Sons of Anarchy.

Let me get you a glass and you can try some of my apple pie.
Not all apple pie is created equal.
Ever sse "Maggs" working as the Soviet spy in The Americans? She's just as believable there. Not many good roles for women her age.
